The Inn is in a beautiful quiet location on the lake; especially attractive in the fall. The rooms are well kept and comfortable.
Good food- my husband loved the choice of breakfast. The owners are charming and the staff helpful. Go and enjoy!!

We would highly recommend the Algonqin Inn to our friends
Love at First Stay! :) You will be back for more!
This past May Long weekend was our second visit to Algonquin Inn. We both fell in love with the Inn, as well as Tina and Gary and the other the Innkeepers. They are wonderfully kind welcoming people that make you feel at home. .
Their food and service is wonderful, after you leave your stay with them you will be having cravings for their Breakfast and Dinners. Their rooms are well maintained and the views of the lake from each room is beautiful.
Their location is perfect because it is close to the park. They offer Free Canoes and Kayaks (life jackets also included) for their guests. The Canoe was a real treat because we had the opportunity to Canoe to Ragged Falls which was supper relaxing and breath taking.
Brilliant Base When Visiting Algonquin Park
Right on highway 60 and only 10 minutes from Algonquin Park's West Gate it's perfect for visiting the park without the hassle of camping. We booked a suite which was fantastic and the view up the lake from our balcony was great. Breakfast is fabby. Make sure you try the omellette!!
We'll be back sometime.......
The folks at The Algonquin Lakeside Inn took great care of us, I went for a long weekend with my Fiancee and we had a wondreful time, the rooms have a great view of the lake and the suites are very nicely put together. The service was outstanding and the hospitality was second to none. We plan on returning and look forward to our next visit to the Algonquin Lakeside Inn
An OK stay in an inn close to the Algonquin park
Stayed here for two nights as part of our trip to algonquin park.
We stayed in the smaller rooms (room 4) rather than the suites. We were disappointed that the owners gave us a different room (room 3) to the one we had booked and instead offered us a room that was facing the main road - this wasnt too busy at night but by about 6 am there were large trucks driving along that road and woke us up.
The inn is very convenient for the park - about a 15 minute drive to the west gate. The owners do a special deal for purchasing a day pass for the park and we thought that this was good value for money.
Breakfast was not included in the price. There are very few places to eat in the area. My advice is to stock up prior to arriving here and it isnt too far to drive to the nearest town (30 minutes) to have a better choice of food.
I would advise finding out on the algonquin website what activites they hold - we went on a ranger trip on sunday am and that was very enjoyable! The park information centre is also worth a visit.
The rooms are reasonable sized and we had no major problems. The TV wasnt working and fortunately they had a spare one to replace it.
There were much newer chain accomodation in the nearby town (eg holiday inn express and comfort inn) and next time I would go for those instead as they both provided better value for money
and also there were more options for evening food and entertainment.
Great people, great location, loved the free canoes:-)
My parents and me were travelling in northern Ontario in September 2007. We did not have a reservation for accomodation, because we like to travel very flexible. We were on our way to Algonquin Provincial Park, were just a few miles away from the park entrance, and saw the sign: Free canoe use for guests! The Algonquin Inn is situated immediately on the lakeside. Gary Schultz, the Innkeeper, was very flexible and offered the three of us - without having a reservation in a busy time - best accomodation directly on the lake for a very fair price. We loved our stay at Algonquin Inn, all people working there were so helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the free canoeing at any time for as long as you wish very much and the short driving time into Algonquin Provincial Park. The Algonquin Inn also serves very nice breakfast and dinner meals. It was the perfect stay for us:-), and we will be back!
Looking forward to our 3rd stay!
We are looking forward to returning to Algonquin Inn this spring.
The inn is located minutes to algonquin park, which is a perfect location for us since we enjoy spending most of the day in the park. We find the staff very helpful and friendly, the meals are wonderful! The rooms have a great view of the lake. There is also free wireless internet.
We are definitly looking forward to getting lots of photos of moose this spring, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenary!
Our stay was made even better by the extremely friendly staff and management who made us very welcome. Inn is well situated for access to all the facilities of Algonquin National Park. The restaurant was excellent and the accommodation first class. We can certainly recommend the Inn for a relaxing break and would certainly stay there again.
I stayed at the Algonquin Lakeside Inn for three nights in early May to photograph the famous Algonquin Provincial Park moose, which are plentiful at that time. The seven-mile drive into the park from the Algonquin Inn is very convenient.
Although I wouldn't classify the accommodations as "luxurious," the cabin I stayed in was comfortable for what it was and provided the additional convenience of a full kitchen with stove, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator. The cabins are heated by a thermostat-controlled propane fireplace, which is very cozy and unique.
Where the Algonquin shines, for me, is in its hospitality. The day of my departure coincided with a meeting of a local business group and breakfast was not exactly speedy. The staff was thoroughly apologetic and Gary wound up taking the meal off of the room bill without any provocation whatsoever, which was above and beyond expectations.
The Algonquin Inn will lend you a season park pass to use while you are in the park, which gives you access to its parking lots and so forth. Park passes are typically $14 per day, so that's a pretty cool benefit as well.
If you're looking for a Park Plaza or a Westin, you probably aren't going to find one around Algonquin Provincial Park, but if you just want good, honest, family-run accommodations at a great value, the Algonquin Lakeside Inn is where you want to be.
