Safety First
by JennysTravels
There is always mist comming from Niagara Falls, especially right in the crook of the Horseshoe Falls. In the winter watch for black ice, it's very dangerous and extremely slippery. You may think the road is just wet, but it could be a patch of black ice. Just driver beware, there are plenty of road signs telling you just that. In the remaining months it's just really wet. Bring a raincoat.
Dress warm for the winter
by sim1
Brrrr, the winter is cold in Ontario, so dress warm for it. Be prepare for cold, and when you get a a bit more to the north of the Province, also a lot of snow.
Hahahaha, I loved seeing these socks in a store though: "Chill busters" and "Polar Paws", I thought they were such fun names ;-)))
But they are good to have! When you go on a hike in the winter remember to dress well. Dress warmly, best by using several layers, but don't overdress!!! If you start sweating in your clothing that only means you will start freezing of the cold later. The moist will cool of and make you freeze. The best thing to do is to wear good breathing materials, and you'll be happy outside, whatever the thermometer might say the temperature is :-))
Getting the Party Started
by Allikatac about Hard Rock Club
This was the first club we ventured in to. The music was loud, but the crowd wasn't too lively at first. If you ask my bf or other friend they'll tell you all the bartenders are HOT. They do have a cover charge, but keep your eyes open on the streets for reps giving out free passes! Clubbing Clothes
Fabulous Views, Excellent Steaks.
by JennysTravels about Keg Steakhouse & Bar Fallsview
The steaks are fantastic!! Try the Oscar Sirloin. Enjoy. Tell them where you heard about it! It's a 500 seat restaurant on the 9th floor of the Embassy Suites Hotel. It overlooks Niagara Falls. You are able to see the fireworks on friday and sunday nights at 10pm perfectly. One amazing restaurant. 14oz New York Steaks. Medium Rare. With a loaded baked potato.
Perfect View
by kazander about Victoria Park Dining Room
After taking a ride on the Maid of the Mist, we were in need of a snack. We headed over to the resturant behind which we had parked our car. The Victoria Park Resturant has 2 levels. Downstairs there is a gift shop (of course) and some outdoor seating with a "fast food" sort of place. Upstairs is the resturant with fantastic views of all the falls. The food was Ok, nothing terribly special. Unfortunately our waitress was just atrociously rude! We asked for the check 3 times before she gave it to us and after we gave her cash, it took her another 20 minutes to return with our change. After 15 minutes we asked when we would be getting our change (very politely I might add) She snapped back " The line is long, you're just going to have to wait!" Yikes! I guess she knew her tip was in jeopardy because when she came back she tried to be nicer. Too late lady!
