  • Hotels close to the falls are not exactly cheap, but this one isn't going to break your pocketbook. We stayed two nights with our 7 and 10 year old children.

    While the room decor was pretty dated, it was VERY clean and the room we had was HUGE! The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked just great.

    The hotel lobby is kind of strange. It's sort of hard and cold, and very small. But since you only have to check in there and go through it to get to the pool, it didn't matter to us. (The kids thought the pool was on the cold side, but we only went swimming once.)

    All the staff were extremely courteous and friendly.

    You really can walk to The Maid of the Mist and the Journey Behind the Falls experiences. Be prepared for a good walk, though. Actually since the incline is pretty steep, the walk back up was worse than the walk to the falls. But we managed it very nicely.

    There is a huge new casino kitty-corned from this hotel so there is plenty of dining around.

  • Rude staff, that want to charge to for anything and everything. Beware parking costs that are not covered with your room. Our group was hit was a $250 charge for smoking, although the one member of our group who smoked, smoked outside.

    Although the hotel is non-smoking there is a terrible musty smell in it. Smoke might actually be an improvement.

    I tried to take the matter up with Best Western, but they said each hotel was independently owned, and they couldn't do anything.

    I stay in many hotels regularly on business (Best Western's included), and have never run into another place so eager to try and charge you extra, or fine you for something.

    Terrible customer service, moldy smelling rooms. Stay away from this place.

    Close to casino, but so are other hotels, which are much better.
