visit the Falls on the Canadian side.
The Horseshoe Falls are two and a half times the length of the American Falls, and carry four times as much water. The Falls here are approximately 170 ft high and 2200 ft wide. The river at the base is actually deeper than the height of the Falls, at 184 feet.

Explore Niagara Nature Trails - Niagara Glen
by Faiza-Ifrah
Our entourage of 18 (all family friends from the adventure of Sudbury in 2005), ranging in ages from 4 years to over 40, explored the nature trail in Niagara Glen on July 27, 2008. The Niagara Glen is located deep in the Great Gorge that has been a designated Nature Reserve since 1992.
We took giant Stairways that led us to 4 km (2.5 miles) of paths that meandered through a pristine pocket of Carolinian Forest and over and around small and big boulders left behind as the Falls eroded through the area thousands of years ago. Many of us climbed a huge boulder to get beautiful views of the valley upstream (picture # 1)
We descended all the way down to Niagara River where it became white water and was being negotiated by whirlpool jet boats. The spots near the river offered wonderful views of the river upstream, the rapids and the mountain on the US side of the Gorge (details and more pictures in following tip).
This was a difficult trek as it involved an elevation change of over 60 meters (picture # 2). It became even more difficult because of many beginners in our group in the skills of hiking and trekking (picture # 3).
Parking at the entrance area to the Glen is free, washrooms and covered picnic areas are also available.
Location: 8 kms north of the Falls on the Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Canada, across from the Whirlpool Golf Course and south of the Lewiston-Queenston bridge.
Idea about transportation in Niagara Falls, Canada
by lscavo
I just came from Niagara falls. I decided to stay at Embassy Suites (which is out of the way from the sites, but still with a view) because it was a little cheaper than Sheraton or the other hotels right at the falls. Embassy was great, BUT I wish that I would have paid the extra money to stay at one of the other hotels because we ended up spending our money on the hotel shuttle ($26) and the people mover ($16) and parking ($25).
These other hotels are right in the mix of everything. It is directly across from the falls and you can walk right to it. The shopping and Clifton Hill is right outside the hotel front door.
I know that if I had stayed at one of these closer hotels, then I would have spend more money probably than I did on the above mentioned charges. But I think it would have been worth it for the TIME that we spend waiting on the different shuttles. Especially on the hotel shuttle. It came often enough (about every 10-15 minutes) but once you got on it, it would be another 20 minutes at least before you got to your stop.
Not the most original restaurant, but....
by Jefie about Planet Hollywood
It had been ages since I had gone to a Planet Hollywood restaurant so we decided to stop at the one in Niagara Falls. The food was good (we got an appetizer platter) and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the size of their "regular" beer pint! The little kid in me still loves Planet Hollywood's chicken crunch!
