Great Hotel...Great Location
by TripAdvisor Member mom110673
After alot of searching and reading through recommendations I chose this hotel. Good, clean hotel. Very friendly staff...especially Trina! Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. Our room was even offered to us almost 4 hours before the 4pm check-in time. Great location. Walked everywhere...Casino, Falls, and Clifton Hill. Would definitely recommend the Country Inn and Suites.
Excellent Hotel - Thin Walls
by TripAdvisor Member ChicagoMagic
We arrived on August 17th for a long weekend. The hotel staff is extremely pleasant and checked us in right away. Our room was very nice and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Having a nice bed is a plus when you've been walking all day, which you are sure to be doing. Be advised that you won't be immediately at the falls when you walk out the door. It is a moderate (10-15 minute) walk to the American falls and at least an additional 25 minute, if not a little longer, walk to the Horseshoe falls. So, if you are looking for a hotel that is out of the craziness, this is the one for you. Clifton Hill is madness on Friday and Saturday night and I wouldn't want to be staying in the hotels closer to the hill. This hotel is perfect for someone who wants to experience the falls but not the chaos of the "tourist" trap. My only criticisms are the thin walls. We were able to hear every noise the people in the next room made including their shower and the flushing of their toilet. We could also clearly hear their discussions which meant they could hear ours too, which is a bit disconcerting. They also do not have a late checkout and the cleaning staff was standing at our door when we left so they could get into the room and clean for the next arrivals, which made us feel a bit rushed to leave. On the other hand, when we needed more towels, they were quick to bring them to us with a smile. The pool is nice but has way too much chlorine and the jets in the hot tub are pretty weak.
well worth the money

i cycled from Toronto to Niagara Falls. My plan was to be there on saturday, and my wife and son would be driving down to NF from Toronto. Having heard so many good things about this hotel in the Tripadvisor, i went ahead to book this hotel 3 weeks ahead of time. I specifically asked for a room with a jacuzzi bath tub in the room.
having arrived in mid afternoon on saturday, the receptionist greeted me with a smile. 'you made it !!!". Love that. i was tired and craving for some munchies. i had only been eating carbohydrates gel and drinking gatarade. guess what, there was a big cookie jar with oatmeal raison cookies on the reception desk for the guests, this is the first good sign. i swallowed at least three, the jar was empty, and the receptionist said that they had more and would immediately fill up the jar. i admire at such good spirit.
got into the room, my first impresson was that it was clean and new, it smells new. the tub is a heart shape jacuzzie with halogen light right above, allowing you to read newspaper while having the bath. it is right in the room with tiles all around so one would not mind wetting the floor. i just thoroughly enjoyed the bath and as i later found out, my 6 year old son also loves the bath tub. i must have spent at least an hour in the jacuzzi watching TV and having my muscles massaged. The tub and the aspirin definitely did the job in getting rid of my muscle pain.
walked down to the main drag (Victoria St) which is at the most 500 yards away. all the half decent restaurants are right around there. I had some real food after my jacuzzi, how convenient i thought.
the swimming pool is well lit, clean and new. the hotel is brand new. in fact, i find that the pool is better than a lot other better hotels' pools . what counts most here is the lighting, it is well lit, nice and bright.
the FREE continential breakfast is more than muffins and bagels. The hotel provides hard boil eggs, and waffles. muffins and yogurt are also available. what is so amazing is that they even provide 3 choices of juices, the standard OJ, apple and Guava. Guava, when was the last time i had this!! just the breakfast is enough to save a family of 3 $30.
This hotel may not be the Four Seasons, but the staff is pleasant, the breakfast is a lot better than the average, the extra touch of having cookies for guests is truly indicative that the hotel management tries hard to please the customers, and for the price one pays, this hotel deserves to be the most popular choice.
Nice!

Once again the Country Inn & Suites proved to be a very good deal. I booked w/ them directly online. We got there early and our room wasn't ready but we were given a parking pass and we able to leave our car at the hotel while we roamed around.
We had a king studio room, the room was nice, roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless! Granted, it's new, but we were not disappointed. And parking is free at the Country Inn and Suites, which is unheard of at other Niagara hotels. They have fresh chocolate chip cookies at the desk at checkin and even gave us a 10% coupon for a neighboring restaurant (The Sandstone), which was a very nice, clean and friendly little place. The food was excellent and the staff was very professional and friendly.
We also tried The Keg Steakhouse, which was also good. Its supposed to be one of the reasonably priced restaurants and was still $100 for the two of us for steak and primerib w/ crableg. The steak was excellent!
Brand new hotel near Clifton Hill attractions

My family stayed at this hotel from 8/22-8/25 and it was just as nice as all previous reviewers stated. I had previously booked a reservation with another hotel, but changed it once I saw how fast this hotel moved to the #1 rated hotel in Niagara Falls. My husband and I and our two kids (ages 12 & 8) stayed in a standard room. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size however, there was no small refrigerator in the room which was an inconvenience. They include free continental breakfast which included cereal, muffins, toast, bagels and pre-made Belgium waffles (which weren't very warm but were very good). The first day of our stay, the line to use the toaster was very long. There was only one and it was crowded around 8:30AM. The next couple of days, we ate earlier and didn't have any problems. The staff was helpful, especially Trina the Afternoon/Evening Front Desk employee, who when asked a question always went out of her way to help us. Upon check-in they give out a 10% coupon to use at the Sandstone Grill House(adjacent to the hotel). We ate there the last night of our stay and the food was delicious!!!! The restaurants at Clifton Hill are chain restaurants (Applebees, Ruby Tuesday's, etc). and are much more expensive than if they weren't located in a tourist area. Sandstone Grill is a small restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu varies from burgers to more gourmet style food and the kids menu is reasonable with a lot of choices. Do yourself a favor and eat at this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!!! My children enjoyed the pool and game room (which had a pool table, pinball machine and Pac -Man video game). The hotel is in a good location, close enough to walk to the Falls/Clifton Hill, but far enough away from all the noise on the Hill.
Loved it !!!

An excellent hotel

Having disastrously tried to go the cheap but nice route a few weeks ago in Niagara, I was a little hesitant booking this hotel. There were 4 families coming up with a total of 5 suites and I didn't want to disappoint everyone. I originally booked the Doubletree and when I saw it was #2 on the popularity list, I was curious which was #1. I saw it was this hotel and went through the reviews. After reading what people said I decided to book it. We got great rates for suites. Add the free parking and free breakfast into the equation, not to mention location, and you have a really good deal. The staff was incredibly friendly. When I needed some stuff to the room, it took about 5 minutes. The room was exceptionally clean and really nice. The suites all had microwaves and fridges, as well as 2 flat screen tvs. Bathroom was spotless. Pool area was very nice. Checking in and out was easy. You can just call from your room and tell them you're checking out and that's it. No need to go back to the front desk. I did that and when packing up the car I remembered I had to return the ethernet cable and the staff member who checked me in the day before even remembered my room number. The small things count just as much as the big ones. I know it is a brand new hotel, I just hope they keep it up. For my next trip to Niagara, as long as the rate is fair, I won't even look up other hotels. I don't need to. This one was perfect.
Wonderful Hotel

This hotel is only three months old - a brand new hotel in the Niagara Falls area! The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We reserved a one bedroom suite and were pleasantly surprised to see how large the living area was. That was a big plus for us, since we were traveling with a teenager and younger child. The hotel was extremely clean and well kept. Breakfast was a big plus, since it saved us a good amount of money. The variety was impressive, from boiled eggs to waffles, cheese, bagels, muffins and cereal along with an assortment of juice and fruit. The lines can be a bit long in the morning, and it seemed as if everyone was always looking for a table while they were waiting on line. However, it seemed that as soon as we were ready to sit down, a table became available. If by chance there isn't a table for you, be sure to ask for a tray so you can bring your breakfast up to your room. The hostess will gladly provide you with it - you just have to ask since they are not out in the open. There are wonderful cookies available in the lobby - try the oatmeal raisin!
The pool was kept very clean, but the spa seemed to be having difficulty working. Any incidents we had during our stay were handled quickly - from needing extra blankets to having our door fixed because it wasn't closing properly. The staff were at our door within minutes. We had a very enjoyable time, and would highly recommend this hotel.

Behind the Falls...
by Pinky_K
Can the journey to "Behind the Falls" be done from US side? or is it only possible from canada side?
If it is possible from US side, could you plese provide me the details.
Oh Canada!
by Confucius
I believe it's only possible from the Canadian side, but then you get to add that big blue country to your VT travel map!
Re: Behind the Falls...
by gschille
You can go behind the American fall on that side. It's not quite the same as on the Canadian but just about as good. THere is no boat ride on the American.
Re: Behind the Falls...

Journey Behind the Falls is on the Canadian side. Cave of the Winds is on the U.S. side (you walk on stairs and boardwalks at the base of the Falls). Maid of the Mist is available from both sides.
US side: Niagara without Viagra
by Confucius
Yet "Cave of the Winds" isn't actually behind the waterfall. Am I right, fallsguy?
Re: Behind the Falls...
by fallsguy
You are right. There was originally an actual cave behind the Falls (hense the name) but it caved in, or something, so the attraction still carries the name but just goes to the base of the Falls, which is still pretty spectacular.
