Nearly Perfect
Stayed here on a beautiful weekend. The hotel is another fine example of the Hilton chain. The building is 19 floors with one side toward the Niagara River as it flows into the falls areas. Only rooms that are at least to the 12th floor have any view of the American Falls. We were on the 14th and could see about 1/2 of the falls length. The Canadian Falls are mostly obscured. The overall view with the room pointing in this direction is very nice. The hotel interior is different than normal. Built more like a lodge, it is pleasing to the senses. Although we only ate a continental breakfast, the food was prepared well and typical of this area. A full breakfast cost was $16.00 along with the high taxes. The reastaurant is on the second floor and there is a coffee shop area near check-in. The new Casino is a 5 minute walk and can be seen from this hotel. Clifton Hill with all of its noise and crowds is a 15 minute walk. Between the hotel and Casino, is a street that takes you to the falls which is also a 20 walk. Also nearby is the Incline which for $2 will transport you down to the Falls. This only goes up and down. Hotel rooms are very roomy with bedding and pillows definitely made to be comfortable on. They are from heaven. Now for the one complaint that we had. The pool water is "cold" and I don't understand why. Seems to me to be something less that 75 degrees. The whirlpool is large and very warm. We would definitely stay here again.
