This hotel is great for the whole family. There is something for people of all ages to do. My husband and I loved the restaurants and lounges, the kids adored the waterfall pool. We all loved the location. It is so close to the falls. You are literally right there. We walked right down to the falls during the afternoon and did some great sightseeing. The rates were very reasonable too. The rooms were terrific!

Unique Quality: great location, nice pool

  • A super stay!

Our family just loved the Renaissance hotel! The staff was so cheerful and helpful. The views of Niagara Falls were just amazing!! The location of the hotel is great...just a hop skip and a jump away from the falls. That was really convenient. The kids loved the pool too! We give it 4 stars. You will too!

Unique Quality: location and waterfall pool are great

    Plenty to Choose from

This photo was taken with my back to Niagara Falls. As you can see there are plenty of wonderful hotels that overlook Niagara Falls. There are tons more set back without a view as well.

    Enjoyable Chain Hotel

    by

We stayed at the Renaissance Fallsview Hotel over new year 2005/6 and enjoyed our time there .Our room was on a high floor and we could see the falls from our window. However lower floors on the same side of the hotel would have had a more restricted view as there are buildings opposite. We ate in the restaurant once and the meal was average although the views are very good.Breakfast was good with a large buffet variety .

Unique Quality: If you are on the falls side of the hotel expect reasonable views of the Falls. Also there is a covered walkway across the road to the Fallsview casino, saves you getting wet before or after you lose all your money

    Directions: Opposite Fallsview Casino

Great location, and kid friendly too!

Don't do what I did and confuse the Renaissance Fallsview on Fallsview Boulevard (which is a Marriott) with the Marriott Fallsview on Fallsview Boulevard. That's what we did, but I'm glad after we settled in that we had gotten the cheaper of the two. The location is better, and all the amenities are top noch. Even though we booked through Priceline, they did not treat us like cheapskates. They gave us a room with two bedrooms so the kids actually got thier own room. The bed linens were the really good kind, with big pillows and thick comforters. The only negative was the food prices, but all of NF is that way. We skipped the regular breakfast buffet and went out the back door to the new $6.99 breakfast buffet place accross the street. The best part was the location. Out the front door is the new Casino, and you are in walking distance of Clifton Hill, the Skylon tower and the IMAX theater...not to mention the...what was that again? Oh yes....the falls. We could even see the fireworks from our window. I highly recommend this hotel!!

Just to note...since I booked off season on Priceline I got a really low price. I can't say what they normally charge.

Unique Quality: The outstanding part for us was all the special touches for the kids. They had a kids check-in counter with a drawing for a toy, and free little stuffed beavers. They had a special kids buffet in the dining room on Saturday and Sunday and afterwords had a show just for the kids. They also had a special activity room that was staffed with three people to play games, playstation, and do crafts and face painting. Of course the kids loved the heated pool too. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of touring where you didn't have to worry about the kids making noise or bothering anyone.

Directions: Buchanan Ave has been renamed to Fallsview Boulevard. This hotel is directly accross from the new Casino.

    Renaissance Fallsview Hotel

We just love the service and kindness of the staff. Breakfasts were unforgettable, with the variety of plates: bacon and eggs, pancakes, several kinds of bread, popcorn, yoghurts...

Unique Quality: Luxurious hotel with great (Canadian or European style?) meals. The jacuzzi bathtubs were extremely relaxing.

    Directions: Close to the Falls

general info

firstly we are traveling at the start of march and was wondering if it snow at this time and what sort of temps we could expect at that time? also how would we get from buffalo air port by public transport and how long does it take?we are staying at the renaissance and saw that the people mover is closed during this month as was wondering how we get about town to clifton hill and outlet shop from our hotel without a car?thanks

You are mostly likely going to encounter some snow, but how much is a big question. Niagara Falls area tends to be tempered and does not get all the snow that Buffalo, just down the road gets. You could be faced with no snow, a light ground covering, or a couple of feet! Temperatures too could vary from being deep freeze to +15C - the best thing to do is to keep checking http://theweathernetwork.com

If it is the Renaissance Fallsview in Niagara Falls you are staying, I checked their web page and under FAQ they give this question/answer about transportation:

http://www.renaissancefallsview.com/default.html

Q4. Could you suggest a means of transportation from the Buffalo International Airport (30 minutes) and Toronto International Airport (90 minutes) to the Renaissance Fallsview Hotel?

A4. Niagara Airbus airport shuttle (surcharge) and 5-0 Airline Limo: both these companies can provide answers to your transportation needs.

If you check out their link, they give you the links to the 2 transportation companies.

As far as going to Clifton Hill - you can walk there in just a few minutes. The outlet plaza you would have to get a taxi, or the hotel could direct you to the local bus, or they may even have a shuttle bus that could take you there. Contact the hotel directly (go to their webpage and email from there) for their recommendation.

Have a great time!

Jane

Check with your hotel. Many offer casino and falls shuttle servicefor a nominal fee or sometimes free with a package deal. If they have shuttle service to Casino Niagara, there is a short street close to the casino stop that puts you right in the middle of Clifton Hill These casino shuttles run every 30 minutes (more frequent on weekends) from morning to late night. This is your best bet to get to Clifton Hill and the falls area without a car. I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and the shuttle was free with a package purchase or $9 without and was good for the length of my stay and most major hotels have this service. You have to share a bus with other hotels but paying to park once will cost you at least the price of the shuttle
