by Metroid

Planning on going on our anniversary in late October, early November. Is it nice during this time? Cold?? Snow :)
Thanks!

The peak of the fall foliage is generally mid-October but it can vary by a few weeks. It's usually cold in the evenings but nice sweater weather during the days. Very rarely is there any snow. You can check the stats from past years on
www.wunderground.com where it says 'History and Almanac'. Hope this helps.

It'll be about 10-12 degrees celcius, I don't know how much that is in fahrenheit. There shouldn't be any snow.

For some years now we haven't had snow until just before Christmas, except of course last year which was a tough winter all around. We had snow for seven months in Northern Ontario. That having been said my friend in Simcoe was golfing most of the time I was shoveling so I would say Niagara will be a safe bet.
Try the icewine.

Travel Tips for Niagara Falls

The falls

by bandura

My favorite part was being as close to the falls as I could be. Go onto the island separating the falls on the American side. You can see the falls from above for both the american and canadian falls.

Packing List

by kimberbakos

Be sure to bring extra clothes and shoes to change into after the Journey Behind the Falls and the Maid of the Mist ride. We were soaked through and had to go to dinner wet and I was chilled to the bone. You may also need to change after a visit to Marineland - the whale show will give you a good soaking! You will probably want to buy a disposable waterproof camera (or two) for pictures when there is alot of spray from the Falls. I was really worried that our camera was going to be ruined from being so wet.

Chocolate fun

by kris-t about Hershey

only Hershey Store of its kind... 650 meters of chocolate fun!

The Hershey Store is a chocolate-lover's paradise. Enter through the 4-story high Hershey Bar, under the giant Hershey's Kiss perched on the corner of the building. Once inside shop for freshly made chocolate sweets and confections at the fresh food counter.

The heavenly aromas of chocolate and fresh-baked cookies will envelope you as you browse through gifts created just for the Hershey Store.

Unique merchandise, souvenirs and memorabilia.

Reasonably Priced Chinese Food

by Martman about Star Dragon Restaurant

I was in Niagara Falls with friends. This area is full of restaurants. Most eating establishments here were not cheap and we were on a budget. We tried this Chinese restaurant which seemed very reasonable. We were not sorry about our choice. It was excellent, tasty and very reasonable price.

I could not find a website for this restaurant, therefore give a website for more reviews about it!

If you are in the area and looking for somewhere a bit cheaper, I suggest trying this excellent restaurant.

If not just for the view....

by lar-n-me about Table Rock Restaurant

This is the closest restaurant to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls (I think). We stopped in only for an appetizer and drink, needless to say the view is fabulous. Unfortunately the spray from the falls occasionally mists the windows.... but it's never enough to hinder the sight.
table rock restaurant An incredible appetizer:
try their baked onion & roasted garlic soup with the roasted cheese & garlic bread (for dipping or alone. The bread also comes with a fabulous brushetta dip). The soup is basically a french onion soup. VERY good.

The buffalo wings weren't great (we had our fingers crossed being so close to Buffalo). We like the hot wings ie Hooter's wings with a good blue cheese ....these wings were bland and the dip as well.
