This is a link to a freeze-frame camera mounted on the Sheraton Hotel overlooking the falls.
It snaps a still frame a few times per hour, every day, all year long so you can get an idea of the conditions in the area.

Canadian Horseshoe Falls
by OlenaKyiv
Canadian Falls or those that attouched to Canadian territory and look like a horseshow (or a moon for me) fall 52 metres (170 feet) into the Maid of the Mist Pool (compare to 21-34 metres (70 to 110 feet) of American Falls.
About 12,000 years ago, Niagara Falls was 11 kilometres (7 miles) downstream from its present position. Until the early 1950s, the Falls eroded at the average rate of one metre (3 feet) per year.
Since then, major water diversions have spread out the flow more evenly, slowing the rate of erosion at the Falls. These include the Sir Adam Beck #2 Generating Station (1954) on the Canadian side of the border, the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant (1961) on the American side of the Niagara River, and the International Control Works (1954-1963).
It is suggested that now the rate of erosion could be as low as 30 centimetres (one foot) every ten years.

Inniskillin Winery

This winery has great VQA wine. You can take a self guided tour of the winery, and then stop back in the boutique to sample some of their fabulous wines at the wine bar. The boutique also sells bottles of wine. Make sure to taste their ice wine. I think it ranges from $3 - $5 per tasting, but it is well worth it. Some of the best I've had. Bottles of the Ice wine range from $50 - $300 dollars, but can be purchased much cheaper at the Duty Free shop.
"walking distance to falls..."
by JoelAM
Many hotels advertise "walk to the falls" or "2 blocks..." or near the falls". Be careful here- these are deceiving. 2 blocks can be a LONG 2 blocks- including UP Clifton Hill returning to your hotel. And what is walking distance? everyone has their own idea of it. Your age, health, and weather has a lot to do with it. I actually measured the distance in my car- some places are 1/3 to 1/2 a mile away. And this was to the bottom of Clifton Hill-its even further to get a close look at the Horseshoe Falls. So don't assume you'll never need your car once you get here if your hotel says "walk to the falls"
Leisurely Dining With a Great View!
by Viajara about Skylon Tower
There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The restaurant revolves so that while you are dining you can view Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was good. Be sure to check out the observation deck after dining.
