Relaxation and comfort
We came with friends who have been staying here for some time - in fact this visit was their third visit this year.
Abacot Hall was everything we expected from a fine B&B and we were delighted!
We look forward to our return...
Abacot Hall is probably the nicest B&B I've ever been to. Mike and Pauline are really friendly and will do everything they can to make you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful and breakfast is great, with a nice selection of food. Each room has a DVD player (and they have a pretty good DVD collection), you can find traveling and restaurant info dowstairs in the guest lounge, and there's also a computer with internet access you can use for free. There's also a guest area where you will find a mini-fridge and a beverage bar, and a nice balcony. Pauline and Mike will also be happy to lend you bikes and answer all your questions about NotL. Next time I'm in the area, I will make sure to back to Abacot Hall!
Unique Quality: This is a pet-friendly B&B - my cat loved his stay at Abacot Hall!
Directions: A 10-minute walk from dowtown NotL

This B&B is one of four that we experienced during our vacation, and earms first place honors. Convenient location, comfortable accommodations, exceptional breakfast, knowledgeable and helpful hosts. We had everything we needed for a wonderful experience in NOTL, and more.
Our stay was just what we had hoped. The room was pleasant and clean, and had an ensuite bathroom, as we wanted.
The hosts were very helpful and cordial. After greeting us and equipping us with maps and brochures of the area, Pauline suggested a couple of restaurants and even took care of booking a very excellent one just 200 feet from the place. After this, she let us get settled and suggested a couple of wineries, again walking distance, where we could pick up a bottle of wine to cap off the night on their lovely terrace. Wine glasses and cork screw provided!
After a refreshing night, we had delicious poached eggs (the breakfast menu was extensive) and the best filter coffee I've ever had (I usually stick to lattes, but this is what they served and it was honestly delicious!). We had a lovely conversation, but again, because we kept it going. They were plenty interesting, but absolutely unobtrusive.
The only downside is that the bed was squeaky (we had the King George room). So no hanky-panky that night :-(
We plan to go back to Niagara-on-the-Lake (still many wineries to visit), and this time, we won't waste a second figuring out where to stay. We'll be back here for sure (but hope they might fix the bed ;-)).
Just wanted to say thanks to our wonderful hosts. They made our stay really memorable. Very knowledgeable about the area; recommended a fantastic restaurant - and even helped us get a reservation! All in all, a wonderful place! You should definitely stay here!
Fantastic B & B!
Room was awesome, house is awesome, hosts are incredible!
Breakfast was fantastic! (I HIGHLY recommend the Abacot Eggs!)
We stayed for the night of our wedding and we couldn't have chosen a better place!
Thank you so much Pauline and Mike, you made our stay feel like we were the only ones in the house! :)
The artwork on the walls is great and worth every penny our gift cost!

Spent 2 nights in September, 2005, then returned for 3 nights in September, 2007 because of our first experience. Facility was just as clean (spotless), hosts were just as gracious (outgoing and extremely helpful), breakfast menu was much expanded (delicious) and we even had great weather.
Conveniently located for anything you would like to do in the area - Shaw Festrival, wine tours, bike trips, or just relaxing and having fun.
Pauline and Mike are great hosts, being very friendly but not overbearing. Borrowed their bikes and went for an evening ride around the beautiful town. Spotless guest house and lovely breakfast. Recommended.

Staying with Mike and Pauline at Abacot Hall is almost like visiting family: everything about my stay, from start to finish, was warm, inviting, and welcoming. I've been staying here for at least 5 years now, and I wouldn't think of any other place to stay.
Mike and Pauline are your consummate innkeepers, and will do everything imaginable to make your stay with them as pleasant and effortless as possible. Mike will make you any one of his superb breakfast specialties, or he'll make you something on request to suit whatever dietary restrictions you may have.
Pauline, on the other hand, will greet you with a smile and talk with you about your day's activities. She knows everyone in town and will make recommendations if you're ever short on things to see and do. However, she'll always inquire about a play you may have seen at the Shaw Fest. She's an avid playgoer and loves to talk about the performances.
And if it's wine you're looking for, she's always good for a recommendation or two.
I look forward every year to returning to Abacot Hall, my Niagara-on-the-Lake "home away from home," and its charming, clean accommodations. And I eagerly look forward to seeing and visiting with my Canadian "family."
I cannot imagine returning to Niagara-on-the-Lake and not staying with the hosts at Abacot Hall. This was our fourth stay with them. Pauline and Mike are welcoming, friendly and very knowlegeable of local activities. Check out the breakfast menu on their website. Their menu offers more choice than any other B&B we have ever visited. We love good food and decided that their kitchen could stand in the same league as the highly rated restaurants in the community. Home baked bread! Homemade savoury pear sauce atop a complex cheeese and chive omelet! Lime aoili bathing the poached eggs Abacot! Devine! And all in hearty portions.
The hosts are well traveled and educated in the theater, art, outdoor activities and golf. They are interesting raconteurs with a genuine interest in each guest. We needed special accomodation due to health issues and these hosts went out of their way to assist us.
