More about Silken Dreams Bed and Breakfast
Great Place to Stay
by TripAdvisor Member skatietoronto
Silken Dreams is in a nice area of NOTL. Only about 2 minutes by car from downtown and the Festival Theatre. The street is impecably clean, (post card perfect), and it only gets better inside.
The room is excellent. Lots of space, the bed is King size, the bath is a very big as well. If you like to soak in old cast iron tubs, you'll have the opportunity to do it here. It has a glass shower as well, for the more "on the go" crowd. The bathroom has the added luxury of a heated ceramic floor.
The breakfast was first rate - 'gourmet" quality. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend Silken Dreams to anyone.
Value is excellent.

We stayed at Silken Dreams to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and came away feeling that we could not have chosen a more perfect spot. The owners, Don and Melody made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we stepped in the door. They were very helpful about places to eat, wineries to visit and a general knowledge of the area.
We stayed in the Ocean room which was a wonderful relaxing retreat. Bright, clean and spacious with a magnificently comfortable king size bed and a lovely , tiled bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub.
Personal touches like flowers, an anniversary card and a lovely backyard to enjoy made it even more special. You don't get that at a hotel!!
And what can be said about the breakfasts besides exceptional! From juices, homemade muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a delectable and different hot dish each morning it was a a true taste delight.
This was our first experience at a B&B and it went beyond our expectations. We plan to visit again.
Awesome Bed!

We would highly recommend the "Forest" room with it's extremely large and comfortable bed to it's wonderful jetted tub.
Both Don and Melody are wonderful people who genuinely love to ensure that you enjoy your stay.
We both loved the breakfast, they sure know how to cook!
If you're looking for a truly enjoyable stay off the "beaten path",
this is the place or you.
The home is located on a quiet and picturesque street, just mere moments from the NOTL main strip.
To top it all off the rates are very reasonable.
Don't hesitate to reserve a room at this fantastic B&B.
We can't wait to return!

Simply Excellent B&B

The accommodations were great. The room was very large, airy, and comfortable. The bath was extremely nice as well. The breakfasts are as advertised, gourmet and very satisfying. My wife and I enjoyed the back deck which overlooks the water garden. This B&B is located in a very quiet and clean neighborhood, so sitting outside was very peaceful. One of the best parts of staying at a B&B for me is getting to know the hosts. Melody and Donald were truly wonderful.
Exceeded our expectations

This was our first time staying at Niagara-on-the-Lake. After scanning the many ads for accommodations, I chose Silken Dreams and couldn't have asked for anything better. The house is warm, cozy, the bedroom (Ocean) was very clean, relaxing and inviting with a full size ensuite. The backyard was peaceful and tranquil with the water pond and colorful foliage.
The hosts were friendly, charming and the food was excellent.
Both of us travelled on motorcyles and Don even brought them into his garage when it threatened rain (thanks again Don, very thoughtful)
The house is just a 2 min. ride by car to town. We chose to walk and enjoyed the spacious parks that included an old military training facility.
I recommend Silken Dreams to anyone that is looking for a comfortable, affordable and thoroughly enjoyable place to stay.
Peace and quiet

Our stay was for 2 nights, the first day being Canada day. NOTL was VERY busy as expected, so we really appreciated the peace and quiet of Silken dreams B&B. It was a delightful experience: we had a beautiful (extremely clean) room, Don and Melody were perfect hosts, and the breakfasts were excellent. NOTL is one of our very favourite places, and whilst we can visit there in a day's trip, for any overnight stays, Silken Dreams will be the first place we will try to book.
Very many thanks,
Bill & Peggy.

My Mom and I stayed in Silken Dreams for two days. We enjoy our staying there tremendously. Don and Melody are very warm and helpful hosts. The location is great: 20-minute walk to the downtown, easy access to the Niagara Winery route but still peaceful and quiet neighbourhood. . The room and the bath were specious and clean. The Breakfasts were simply amazing. Even my picky Mom loved all.
We will definitely go back!
Exceeded our expectations!

I stayed for one night w/my mom in the Ocean Room. Very large bedroom with a large bathroom in the room. Bathroom had both a separate shower and a tub. It was extremely clean. The owner separated a king bed into two twins for us. Beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of room to move around the room. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Very quiet street which makes for great sleeping! The homes on The Promenade Street are more recently built, so if you are looking for an old creeky floor environment, this may not be for you. However, the location is great and the rooms are impeccable which made Silken Dreams a great choice for us. I would definitely come back and stay with Don and Melody as my first choice for lodging in NOTL.
Strongly recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights with Donald and Melody at Silken Dreams this summer and enjoyed every second of it (so here comes the review we promised!). After having been on the road for almost three weeks this was like coming to heaven.
The hosts were both extremely welcoming, and the room (ocean) was large and cosy with a fantastic bathroom (loved the tub!). We also loved the backyard with the deck overlooking the small pond (great location for having a glass or two of local wine in the evening). The weather was quite bad one of the days we were there, but we didn't mind at all. as that meant we could spend more time in the lovely room without feeling guilty about the wineries we missed out on. Oh, and I must not forget to mention the breakfasts. They even looked just as good as they tasted: fantastic! Yummm!
This is definitely our place to stay if we ever go back to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Thanks for two fabulous days!
Wonderful hosts at Silken Dreams!

Don and Melody are delightful people with a real gift for hospitality. As all the reviews have said, their place is absolutely immaculate, the breakfast is creative, delicious and beautifully presented, but the best part of all is their gracious hospitality. You feel like you're with good friends in their home...and in fact, you are!
