I LOVE this place, and have stayed here several times.
The Stream has won many awards, including Best B&B in Canada. You can take a virtual tour on their website.
John Franklin is a world-reknowned geologist, who along with wife Kersty, have built this cedar and high-windowed modern home into the rock leading down to the headwaters of the Nottawasaga River.
Paths lead through the forest to the steam where, in the shallow water, trout can be seen spawning. My kids spent hours trying to catch them!
Downstairs are three bed and breakfast rooms with immaculately clean bathrooms (one room is a private bathroom). Upstairs, built into a cubby in the roof, is the Loft, with a ladder leading up to two single beds... so you could have a romantic room to yourself and the kids would be happier than a pig in mud in the Loft.
A stream runs down the side of the hill past your window (a bit more of a torrent in the spring) - sooo relaxing to sleep to.
White leather couches with cozy hand-quilted throws surround a floor to ceiling fireplace wide enough to fit five-foot logs.
And then (!) there's a year-round outdoor HOT TUB!! You cannot help but turn to jelly at this place. Tres sexy!!
