Hotel that feels like home
Everything you need in a hotel is right here. Kitchen, pool, workout facilities, children's play area, helpful staff, it's all covered. My only gripe was that the oversized vehicle lot was too small. Withing walking distance to most major attractions. Housekeeping staff was top notch. Definately recommended.
Unique Quality: Everything you can think of is here.

A hotel for real people!
This was an absolutely fabulous hotel! We stayed in a one bedroom suite that also had a pull out couch, and the room fit the four of us very comfortably. All the suites have a full kitchenette and everything you need for a extended stay in Ottawa. Also good for families. The hotel is right off Elgin St. and there is a grocery store and several restaurants nearby. You can easily walk to all attractions including Parliament, Sparks St. Mall, Byward Market and the Rideau Centre.
Unique Quality: Health Club featuring Indoor Pool, Whirlpool, Sauna and Exercise Room, Outdoor Garden Patio, Playground and Indoor games room for kids, Restaurant, Room Service, Indoor Parking.
Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Cartier Place Suites
$100.00 for a suite with a bedroom, living room with pull out couch and a kitchen.
My family and I stayed in a 2-bedroom suite in this hotel, during July 2005. It was excellent. The suite was very well equipped with a large TV in the sitting room and another in the master bedroom. All rooms had air conditioning. The kitchen was very well equipped with a full size cooker and oven, large fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, all cutlery, crockery, dishcloths, oven gloves, etc. The public areas are pleasant with a good pool and hot tub. It is only a short walk into downtown Ottawa but there are also a good selection of restaurants in Elgin Street, a minutes walk from the Hotel. There is also a decent supermarket round the corner. Just be aware that parking in the underground car park is extra but pretty vital as on street parking is restricted to 2 hours. I would definitely stay at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel again.
Great stay in a sweet room

Stayed at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel (no longer Tower in name) for a couple days in June 2005. I was pleasantly surprised right from the moment we were walking up to the hotel. The room was a lot bigger than I was expecting and in great shape. Nice kitchen, balcony, bathroom, bedroom and living room. I felt like I was in an apartment. this used to be an apartment building and was renovated to a hotel. There was a laundry room right across from our suite that would have been really handy had we had a longer stay. The location is great. A few blocks to the parliament area. Little pub next door and a restaurent on site. There are fast food places around the corner on Elgin st. and nice restaurants near the parliament area. We walked around a lot in the short time we were there and found the hotel to be well located. All in all, I felt very at home staying here and would definately stay here again. I would have liked to stay longer. I will stay there next time I go to Ottawa for sure.
Was A Brief But Nice Stay!

Hotel : Cartier Place Suite Hotel Location : Ottawa Time Of Stay : April 26-27 2005
I was only in the hotel for one night and it was a very brief stay. I was only in the room for a few hours sleep! When I arrived at about 12:30 my room wasn't ready (they could have it ready for 4pm but I needed it to make some phone calls and change). When I spoke to the receptionist she was very nice and said she could look for another room for me which would be available straight away. She found me a cheaper room (the only difference was there was no wall between the kitchen and the living room I think?!). I took it - all I wanted was a bedroom and a shower. The room was very clean with lots of room - a whole kitchen area (oven, microwave, fridge, cutlery), living room (sofa, big TV), bedroom, bathroom and I think a dining room coming off from the living room though I can't remember. When I left the hotel very early the next day, I phoned down to reception and they answered straight away. They were polite and booked a taxi for me which had arrived when I checked out. Also the hotel is located very close to Parliament Hill - it is just down Elgin Street. I would definitely stay there again.
Nice Place

Nice hotel suites, clean and comfortable. Good location to downtown Ottawa - took us about 10-15 mins to walk to downtown area, useful as parking is at a premium and expensive. Hotel has a nice bar and an Italian restaurant although a bit pricey. Local bars and restaurants were very good - quality and price. One thing to watch out for, if you want to park at the hotel its very expensive $14Can + tax per day - some rates include parking and others don't, so make sure you check before you book.
Hotel treats guests like trash

This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed at. The staff treated me like trash and just wanted my money. The General Manager Heidi Webster and the Guest Services Manager Shannon Magee are the worst people I have ever had to deal with in all my travels. Never ever stay there.
Wonderful hotel.... A real winner for the price !!!

We just stayed the Cartier Place Hotel for three days/two nights with friends of ours. We were all impressed with the location, size of the rooms, cleanliness and the price !!! The rooms were large- a kitchen, small dining area, a living room with a balcony with 4 chairs, a good size bathroom and a bedroom with 2 double beds. The area was about a 10 minute walk to Parliment and had many reasonably priced resturants nearby. Underground parking was an additional $14Cn with our rate and we booked through Expedia for about $75 US / Night. All four of us said that we would definitely stay there again !!!
Fabulous!

From check-in to check-out we had a wonderful stay at the Cartier Place. A fully stocked one bedroom apartment at a very reasonable price! (CAN $89/night!). About a half mile (and a beautiful walk along the canal) to Parliament and Byward Market. The front desk was helpful and very knowledgable about the area. Quite a few restaurants within walking distance, full grocery store right around the corner, taxis readily available.

Aristocrat Suite Hotel + surrounding
by Skwerly
Hello,
I'm thinking of staying at the Aristocrat Suite Hotel which is around Cartier and Cooper streets. I'm wondering if anyone's had any experiences with this place. Also, what's that area like? Is it quiet, bustling, etc...?
Thanks in Advance!

I only can tell you a little bit of the area. It's quiet, 2 to 3 blocks from the business area and city hall. 2 Blocks from the Rideau canal, which is nice to walk along (to Parliament hill and the Bayward area). There are a couple of nice reataurants and pubs in a 15 minutes walking distance. At the other side of the canal the student area starts.

Hi, I stayed there last month and was pretty pleased with it. It's a great location because all the attractions are within walking distance but at the same time, since you're a bit outside of the really touristy area, it's very quiet (and safe). My room was large and clean, nothing too fancy but still very nice, with a balcony.
And just so you know, there's another nice hotel just across the street, the Cartier Place Suite Hotel. They're pretty similar...

As noted above, the area is quiet..yet close to lots of attractions. You can easily walk to the Byward Market area, the Rideau Centre (shopping), the Rideau canal (skating). Also, the area has alot of lovely homes to look at. You will be close to Elgin Street..it has lots of restaurants, grocery store, shops...lots to entertain you.
Enjoy your visit!
