Here you go:

I googled 'ottawa turning page memorial' and that led me to the relevant site.

It is located in a small room up in the Peace Tower of the Canadian Parliament Buildings and is open to vistors. The last time I visited it was after a tour of the Parliament buildings (something I only tend to do when we have out of country visitors).
If you visit during the summer months, the lineups can be quite long.

In the Memorial Chamber at the base of the Peace Tower of the Parliament Buildings you can see five Books of Remembrance...and you're correct, each book is a listing of the War Dead from each major conflict that Canadians have lost they're lives in..WW 1, WW2, Korea,The Boer War, the Merchant Navy , and lastly "In Service to Canada" which I believe are firefighters and police.
Co-incidentally I just visited it on Saturday...you can access only through a tour that is given of the "Center Block Building".The organized portion of the tour ends just outside of the Memorial Chamber and you can have as much time as you want or need in here..
Here is a link for you to find the name in question...
http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=collections/books/listing
You can inquire at the following address to know the exact date that a persons name will be available to view..They can tell on what date the page will be opened at the name of the person that you wish to see..
Catherine Tremblay
Hope this helps...

Travel Tips for Ottawa
Beaver Tails!
by kehale
When visiting Ottawa - particularly in and around the Byward Market you absolutely MUST get a beaver tail! Fried dough sprinkled with sugar and then you can choose any topping you like! Anytime I bring someone new to see Ottawa I make sure that before they leave they have tasted one of Ottawa's signature snacks! It's great in the summer to stop by their location in the Byward Market and munch while the sun is shining. Otherwise - I suggest in the winter to put on a pair of skates and stop at one of their many locations along the canal!
Across the Ottawa River

If you walk across the Inter-provincial bridge from Ottawa to Hull, you'll be at the Museum of Civilisations. A good looking building, in the shape of an inverted canoe. It's really worth a visit, for the architecture and for some good exhibitions. And great films at the IMAX OmniMax.
The view on Ottawa, especially Parliament Hill, is picture perfect. For those who know how to take perfect pictures :-)

When visiting Ottawa you must see the Parliament Hill. It's very interesting to walk around between all the buildings of the government. You can take part in guided tours.
In summernights, there are lightshows. Really nice!

It is a lovely structure and if the walls could talk! Our policital meetings are held there apparently.

History everywhere.. you can even skate on it!

Visit the museums. The best, IMO, is the Museum of Civilization, in Hull. This picture is taken just oustide the building. The National Gallery ranks up there too. If you're in Ottawa, you really should learn about Canada, and the museums do a gerat job. Grab a tourist guidebook, they sometimes tell you which day of the week the museum admits people for free. Luckily they mostly have different free/discount days! Skating along the Rideau Canal, eating Beaver Tails (they're pastries, not the real thing! ^.^)
