Hostel Ottawa/ Laurier Guest House

This place is literally a slum-dwelling and not fit for any person to inhabit. It is dirty, there are RATS (which the owner claims no responsibility for) and smells horrible. The owner Deepak is incredibly rude and has no understanding of customer service or even normal etiquette and is completely unreasonable. I also believe he is sexist and has a problem with strong or assertive women. Horrible experience overall.

I stayed there during one of the hottest summers there so I cannot be impartial. I can tell you that it was hot since there were fans but unfortunately I did not get one on my top bunk. It made it uncomfortable for me to sleep at night so I ended up at times sleeping on the couch downstairs. Overall the staff was great and friendly. Accommodations was fairly clean. They supplied linen :-). They could have done a better job with the bathrooms though.

Unique Quality: Good location, walking distance to downtown, liquor store :), bus to the casino and accessible to public transportation.
