 | Quality Hotel: Quality Hotel Downtown Ottawa

Room at the Quality Hotel Downtown Ottawa by Canuck5, 1 more photos I spent two nights at the Quality Hotel, and had a pleasant stay. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, and the room was clean and modern. I had read other reviews elsewhere about this hotel, and most of the complaints involved parking availability. I did not have a vehicle with me on this trip, but then I really didn't need one to get around downtown since everything is within walking distance. The restaurant is Don Cherry's, and you get a full complimentary breakfast with a night's stay, not just a "continental breakfast", which was a pleasant surprise. More pictures are available on the hotel's website.
Clean room, modern shower fixtures, cable TV with in-room movie service, radio, free local phone calls, free high-speed Internet in the lobby and in-room Internet service available, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, bottle opener, and tubes of shampoo, conditioner and skin lotion are provided. Pets are allowed, and clients have the free use of fitness facilities and pool at the University of Ottawa. A free Globe and Mail newspaper is also available each day. An LCBO liquor outlet is directly across the street, as is a Loeb's grocery store. There's also a Beer Store about a block away on Rideau. You're also about 4-5 blocks from the Rideau Shopping Center, and about the same from the Byward Market area, where you'll find an abundant choice of restaurants, pubs, cafes, and shopping outlets. The only thing that I found missing from my room was a pen, but the front desk gave me one. It would be nice to have had a small fridge and a rubber bath mat, but there are neither in the room.
