Friendly Family-Run Hotel
Very friendly staff, extremely helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, but adjoining rooms can be fairly noisy, I would suggest making sure you do not have an adjoining room. Free shuttle to and from airport (within certain hours).
Unique Quality: Walk-in fridge and freezer storage (ideal for travellers going to the north for work with coolers). Pool and hot tub. Located close to restaurants (sit-down and fast-food), grocery store, and Walmart. Located across the street from rapid transit bus station which gets you downtown in 10 minutes ($3.25).
I wish to take the inside the parliament Hill Guided Tour earliest time slot (9.00am). I understand that they only give out ticket on the same day too. Does anyone know about hoe early must I go to queue up for the ticket if I want the earliest time slot (9.00am timeslot). Thanks. :)
Looks like its only open at 9:00 am.....Theres plenty of information here...
Ticket pu location seems to change after September 8th....here...two different locations located I think on the Hill itself...
May 13 to September 7, 2009: Visitors can obtain same-day tickets at the Info-Tent.
September 8, 2009 to May 18, 2010: Visitors can obtain same-day tickets at the Visitor Welcome Centre. "

Yeap. I am aware of those information. But just wondering what time I need to be in the queue to be able to get the earliest time slot. :) Thanks. Anyone have any idea?

Travel Tips for Ottawa
Get Canadian Currency!
by silasm
When traveling in Canada and using US Dollars if you do not have Canadian dollars some places may take US dollars but they will treat them like Canadian dollars and you will lose some money. This happened to me on several occassions when I could not use a credit card. I suggest that you not get caught short of Canadian dollars.

You must get a cuban cigar. That was probably the first thing we did. We got some cigars and went to some bars. It was a good time. My fondest memory was of meeting new people and hearing them say 'Aboot'. funny.

I am impressed with the Canadian Museum just across river. It gives me an insight into the history and culture of Canada. The exhibition hosted is also of very high quality and the IMAX Theather there is also worth a visit.

There're a lot of things to see in Ottawa - the Parliament building, the Byward Market, Gatineau Park (in Hull), etc. There are tonns of museums, and festivals happen practically every weekend. Some of the major ones are Winterlude in February, the Tulip Festival in May, the Balloon Festival in September. Mostly it's the beautiful Nature of the area. Any time you go to Ottawa, chances are that the days'll be sunny (except possibly in November and March).

As this is our nations capital you must see, the Parliament buildings, the National Art Gallery, and all of the museums. If the weathers right take a hot air ballon ride over the city. Parks, parks and more parks, Ottawa must have the largest ratio of green space per person than any other city I've visited. You are virtually a few minutes from a nice quiet secluded area in a park from anywhere in the city.
