Travelodge Ottawa East: Not in the city center, but much cheaper

Though this hotel is about 3 miles form Ottawa's city center, it was actually a good place to stay. There isn't much around it, but we had a car with us, so that really wasn't a problem. Despite the fact that we arrived at 3 AM, the staff was very nice to us. It is a quiet place (both hotel and the area around it) with very nice people. The rooms were very clean and parking is free.
Not too far away, but very reasonable prices. It has a pool, restaurant, pets are allowed.
