Cobble Beach Resort: Best views of Georgian Bay
With only 10 rooms, the Cobble Beach Resort feels very private. You can visit the hot tub, steam room, saltwater pool and fitness area on the bottom level via the small elevator from outside your room on the second floor wearing the robe provided. Very convenient with little chance of encountering other guests, staff etc. A large library/ common room on the second floor is available for use until 9 pm each night.
The service is professional and courteous but never intrusive. The fine dining Sweetwater Restaurant offers excellent food and drinks at reasonable prices in a beautiful dining room or outdoor patio overlooking Georgian Bay and the 9th and 18th holes of the on site golf course.
A scenic 18-hole championship golf course, practice facilities, new tennis courts, hiking trails and a small private beach with chairs and a fire pit are also available to guests.
The large rooms feature huge windows, cathedral ceilings and marble baths done in contemporary colours. A sizable continental breakfast with excellent coffee is included and is served until 10:30 am.

Brae Briar B&B: 5 Star Breakfasts at your Home Away from Home
Elizabeth has breakfast perfected to an art form. My favorite is french toast/waffles/pancakes with Real Maple Syrup and homemade jams and this is why I prefer to stay in B&B's. She made me homeade waffles on a heart shaped waffle iron. She dusted them with icing sugar and they were truly beautiful.
The home is filled with beautiful art work. Elizabeth is a wizard on the sewing machine and you will find gorgeous quilts, bedspreads, and lots more.
Cost $70 for one person and $100 for two people including breakfast.
It is best to contact them via telephone because they are not wired to the www.

Harrison Park Campground: Get back to nature
At the start of the road trip, we weren't too sure whether we'd find a place to camp but just incase, we packed a tent and just asked the locals to suggest a place that was still open.
One directed us to Harrison Park with a comment "well, it's not the best campground - kind of shabby".
I don't know where this guy camps, his idea of roughing it is probably no room service. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this campsite. In fact, it was perfect! We pitched our tent right next to the river, and listened to the salmon freaking out all night. (It happened to be Salmon Run season!)
Harrison Park offers everything from outdoor pools, canoes, washroom facilities and hiking trails. Even the firewood is provided for you at a nominal cost.

Solstice Bed & Breakfast: Not a doily in sight
In Walter's Falls between Owen Sound and Collingwood is a very unique bed and breakfast - an old church converted to a clean, professionally-decorated home. The owners have given it a New Agey, almost occultish feel.
This would be a good trip for the late fall harvest with the apple orchards nearby.
An antique sleigh is a comforatable sofa under twinkling branches before the fireplace.
The rooms are located in what was once the balcony area, as well as a smaller room which was once the room behind the pulpit.
The owners, Blue (yes thats her name) and David, welcome families and serve the best HEALTH breakfast ever!
