The area around Parry Sound is very beautiful though, and especialy Killbear Provincial Park. Killbear is a 30 minute drive northwest of Parry Sound on Highway 559.
It's a wonderful place to hike or go to the beach. You can read much more about this Provincial Park on my Killbear page :

View from the air over Parry Sound. As you maybe can see, Parry Sound isn't that spectacular. But it is nicely hidden inbetween the trees and right on the Georgian Bay. The location is what makes Parry Sound worth while going to, not the town itself.
