Canadian Wilderness Trips
"Not really Pembroke"
Every year we (hubby, dogs & I) go up into Quebec to a hunting/fishing camp and stay in a rustic cabin on a lovely lake. Pembroke, Ontario is the closest 'big' town, Chapeau is the nearest village. The lake is called Lac MacGillvry.
"Every so often..."
My husband is good at telling big fish tales, but every now and then he's telling the truth! Here he is with a 'keeper' from the 2003 Canadian Wilderness trip.
We all had a soak in the whirlpool and then a swim in the pool at the "BEST WESTERN MOTEL" in Pembroke. It is very new and modern and two minutes from highway 417 ( the Trans Canada Highway) They have their own restauant which is good or you can go across the street to a huge "IRVING Gas Station and Restaurant" with a gift shop and all kinds of take out stuff ( We ate here very good.) The biggest and the best "WESTERN SANDWICH" I ever had in my life (I love them). Also a great breakfast and the price is right.
