Hi All,
We're heading west from Toronto and want to make a "quick" stop in Sudbury to see one or both of these museums. How long would you recommend we spend in each?

Can't really answer your question, but Sudbury is a good lunch stop if you are driving up north or west. The drive between SS Marie and Sudbury tends to get boring, just to warn you. Lake Superior Prov Park has some great scenery, do stop by if you have the time.
Visit 'THE BIG NICKLE'. Since Sudbury is a nickle mining town this is their symbol.It is temporarily at the Science Center for cleaning. Visiting Lake Ramsey again. ---------------------------------The visit to the mines is closed until 2003 for refurbishing. etc.
3 kms from Simon Lake, we found another lake on right side of the Highway. There were many families picnicing in the area.
The main feature of this lake was the gushing waters of the river feeding the lake that could be seen for hours.
There is nothing at all to do in Sudbury. Really. However, we couldn't get to an any more interesting place before nightfall, so we had to make a stop there. But really: if you can avoid it, please do so...
I come here when I want to go shopping... It's about 3 hours away... It's a cool place to be... :P
Hah.. that sucked.. um... so... Um.. But it's true.. me and my family usually come here to shop.. because there is a bunch of malls there. The next time I go there I think I'm going to go see a movie at Famous players. :)
