Is ther e any bus getting to Thunder Bay from Saint Paul, Minnesota
by hai3au
Hi Everyone!
I am searching for the bus to go to Thunder Bay on January 1st, 2011 from Saint Paul, Minnesota and get back on January 7th, 2011. However, I can't find any good bus to get there. The only bus has this route is Greyhound bus, but it takes more than 48 hours to get there while it is just 6 hours if we go straight. Do you know any bus to get there faster than. Please give me some information! Thank you very much.

Looks like there used to be service offered by HT Transportation (out of Thunder Bay), but they now just go into the US to Grand Portage Casino (for free, nonetheless). St. Paul to Duluth is also really easy. Between Duluth and Grand Portage though, it may be private car, flying or nothing.

Thanks for helping me! But if I can drive to the Casino upthere, I think it is better if I drive to Thunder Bay too. Do you think so?
If there is no bus to go there, do you think can I drive there alone from Saint Paul? How is the way to go there? Is this easy to go? Are there some houses, gas station and some cars go this way too?
I just wonder that it is kind of risk if I drive alone in the way I haven't try before in the snow. So if you have any experience, please share to me. Thank you very much.
Travel Tips for Thunder Bay
School and Youth Camp !
by LiindaM
The thing i really liked and what i would recommend you to go to is well that bigg mall in Thunder bay if you havn't already been there. Just to go shopping at the Intercity mall, the place where everything is ... it's big ! My best memory from Thunder Bay and what i Miss, well that Day camp for youths while their parents go to school. It was Fun, and a very good learning environment, it was like school but just the age categories were in different classes. And I met a Friend who was in my group and we like chilled out the whole time ... got into trouble with eachother, walked aorund, learned about eachother, laughed with eachother, learned with eachother, and anything else that friends do... it was fun and funny ! .. But i Miss herr tooo...I wish i can go back and spend my time over there again , and meet new friends ! Maybe when you go to school up there and your kids can go tooo and make new friends . Thats if they still put those programs on.
Fort William Historical Park
by marisa81
Fort William Historical Park is a recreation of the year 1815. This was the meeting place for natives and voyageurs to swap goods and rest before returning home.
The fort is huge (the biggest recreation of its kind) there are about 43 buildings, a native emcampment, farm and daily reenactments happening daily.
Admission for adults is $12, but on special event days admission is usually half price or free. call ahead to check when these are

A Multi-cultural Town
by KimberlyAnn
Thunder Bay is a multi-cultural town filled with special events and ethnic festivals. We arrived during Harbor Fest one summer and it was a great weekend complete with fireworks, a Jamaican Street band, and a variety of ethnic foods sold from small booths on the streets. For a schedule of the different events see the listed web site below and click on events calendar.
Hockey
by chris_i79
If you are in Canada, then hockey is the sport. Thunder Bay is a hockey hotbed. The University has a team that competes every weekend. The city also creates outdoor rinks every winter for the publics use. There are over 30 of them spread out across the city.....bring your skates
Chippewa Zoo
by chris_i79
This is not a world class facility by any stretch of the imagination. However if you are in Canada and have yet to see a bear or moose it could be useful to you. Most of the pens are in the animals natural vegetation except for the black bears on the partial cement floor. Animals at the zoo include: Caribou, deer, lynx, bobcat, wolves, black bear, reindeer, bald eagles and more. A $1 contribution is asked for at the entry.
