Confederation College - Sibley Hall: Cheapest accommodation in the city, bar none

Yes, it's institutional and cold, but where else can you get a private room with a microwave and refrigerator for $15 CAD???

That price is for a member of Hostelling International but even if you aren't a member you can stay for $20 CAD. If you don't like the idea of sharing a bathroom down the hall, you can add a private bathroom for just $5 CAD.

Nice park atmosphere outside the buildings and trails for walking, biking or rollerblading.

Only operates May 15 - Aug. 15.

Fridge and microwave in every room.

Private bathrooms available.

Check-in until midnight, no curfew.

Kakabeeka Provincial Park: Campground

Easy self registration, clean facilities...

We stayed at the campground for two days at $15 ca a night. Plenty of hiking, great waterfalls a so-so beach and play area for the kids. Not easy to access from the campsites.

We saw plenty of wildlife - moose and a black bear cub. I would recommend it

The Nor'Wester Best Western...

The Nor'Wester Best Western Hotel

It's pricey and you MUST have your own car, but the rooms are lovely and there are lots of ammenities (in-room coffee and hairdryer, swimming pool, gym etc).
Special rooms with hot tubs and fireplaces are also available.

Eva Lake Fishing Resort: Eva Lake Fishing Resort

This fishing resort offers wood cabins with all the ammenities as well as fishing boat rentals and fly-in fishing options. Also has a small beach with good swimming, a shared barbeque and bonfire pit, and a small pizza restaurant. Really friendly management.

A Variety to Choose From: Thunder Bay Dontains a Variety

Thunder Bay contains a variety of hotels and motels, B&Bs, a KOA campground, and of course the marina where we always stay. I am only familiar with the Prince Arthur’s Landing Marina, but you may get a list of lodging choices from the web site. Click the sites “Plan Your Trip” button then do a lodging search for such choices as hotels, motels, resorts, Bed and Breakfasts, camping, and one hostel. Prince Arthur’s Landing is in Marina Park, which is a very beautiful area on the shores of Lake Superior, located off Water Street in the northern part of the City. The Marina opens May 15 annually and offers 226 slips. Services include washrooms, laundry and shower facilities, pumpouts and fuel (gasoline and diesel). Attendants are on duty 9 am to 9 pm during the boating season as well as on-site security. Phone number for Prince Arthur’s Marina is (807) 345-2741.
