    • We stayed at the Holiday in on King for four nights of our first week. We just walked in of the street and the room cost about $250CAD a night. It was a huge room though. We were then going for a few days to Ottawa and Monteal before returnting to Toronto so we booked another couple of nights. This time we only paid $205CAD a night. It pays to pre-book.

    A friend of mine stays here when he comes to Toronto and has yet to complain at all about the place. It is your standard Holiday Inn geared for the convention and business crowd with tourists frequenting too. The rooms are large and there are a good coffee shop and respectable bar beneath. Also underneath is a comedy club. Surprisingly the Hell's Angels stayed here during a convention. There were no serious incidents to report of. The actual hotel is located from the 9th to the 22nd floors of this complex. The building itself is often regarded as the ugliest building in Toronto. You be the judge. It is not pretty but there are uglier.

    In my mind the best thing about this hotel is the location, especially if you have come to Toronto for the nightlife and sportlife. The Holiday Day on King Downtown in is located smack in the middle of Toronto's very hot "Entertainment District". In fact a couple of the nightlife tips I have posted here are just three blocks away. Also the Rogers Centre (the Skydome) is located nearby where you catch a baseball game or a CFL game. There are also several theatres just blocks away and more restaurants then you can count. We held a local VT meeting on the same block.

    Stayed here one night in cold December. Hotel is in walking (albeit some lengthy walks) distance from CN tower, shopping streets, sights, etc). There was some renovation going on, the breakfast room was moved to some "backroom". This was not the most pleasant environment to have your breakfast. The quality and quantity of the breakfast was so, so. Nothing special. Order a steak for room service. This was due to lack of time, otherwise recommend to go and eat somewhere out. Cheaper and better quality.
    The lobby is small and it can take a really long time when you need to check out of, check in or just to ask a question. It seems to be not easy to get a cab to the airport. Needed to get one around 7pm and the hotel promised to arrange one, but never showed up. Better to go on the street and get a cab yourself.
    The room is very nice and comfortable. Nice bed, nice decor. The shower is too small for the price paid. I paid 280CND for one night, incl. breakfast
