Transportation from hotel on Airport Rd to ACC

by lindamolnar

My daughters are heading to ACC for Spice Girls concert. They are looking for a motel on the outskirts of Toronto (Airport Rd) so they don't need to drive in the city. What is the easiest way for them to get from there to the ACC. Is there a bus route or possibly a shuttle?

I would recommend getting a room close to the end of the subway line not the airport. Busses may not run that far later in the evening. Cabs could run $30-40 each way.
I hope someone from Toronto can give you more acurate info.

Go to the website www.gotransit.com and find the bus that goes to Union station from the airport. From Union station the ACC is not far away.

If you are looking to stay around the airport (as that's the best link area to downtown on transit) there are many hotels in many price ranges. From the airport your daughters can catch TTC bus #192 to Kipling subway station. Take the subway to St. George to swicth to the southbound trains. Take the southbound train on the Yonge/University line to Union Station (closest to ACC).

Holiday Inn east of the airport is around $100/night and is located at Dixon (Airport Road continued) and Martingrove (bus on Martingrove goes directly to Kipling Stn.)

Another option is Holiday Inn Yorkdale which is located near the shopping mall and the subway, which would be direct to Union Stn. This looks to be around $130/night.

There is a motel at Goreway Rd. & Highway 7 and another at Highway 7 & Highway 50, but these would involve extensive transit travel and connection (Brampton Transit to TTC connections).

Also, check out www.priceline.com for great rates on all hotels in the toronto area and this may give you the information you're looking for.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas.

We stay at the Fairfield Inn near the Airport and depending on how quickly we want to go downtown there are several options. Bus to Subway and then to downtown. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport and then take the Airporter to downtown. It is more expensive but fast. You can also take a cab to the subway.

There are a lot of nice hotels in the area.

Chinatown

I don't think I've ever eaten as much asian food in such a short period of time, but when you hang with Hotsauce28....
On Saturday afternoon, despite nursing massive hangovers (kids, do not mix Guinness and Tequilla) Hots brought me all through Chinatown. I wish I had taken a few photos because this place was ALIVE. All the shops and markets were open with their goods displayed in huge baskets in front. I could have spent the entire weekend there and never been bored. Honestly, too many memories to mention. But the best memory was meeting people who I know will always be a huge part of my life.

Very Casual

by AlekToronto

Torontonians outside of a Business Meeting dress very casual. A lot of people think nothing of coming out of the gym in sweats and T Shirts and walking down the street to a restaurant. Visitors can dress however they want and no problems will be met. Only exception are business meetings and a very few smart nightspots where sloppy dress will keep you in line.

Torontonians do not generally have good fashion sense and you will see many fashion crimes committed on our streets..do not laugh too much at us..it is just our Canadian easygoing anything goes casual lifestyle.

Toronto, the MegaCity,...

by gardesque

Toronto, the MegaCity, consists of the cities of Toronto, York, North York, East York, Etobicoke and Scarborough. And as the locals like to say, "And it is still Toronto, York, North York, East York, Etobicoke and Scarborough, no matter who amalgamated s**t." And for the hardcore Torontonians, people from Scarborough and Missisauga are sometimes refered to as the "S&M people".
