Don't know if I would recomend it...but we stayed at the Howard Johnson Downtown. It was a great location....but we had problems with our keys EVERY day! The parking was scarce....but if you are just looking for a pillow to rest your head on...it works....
It is a cute little house that the hotel is in...near the subway, and included a free continental breakfast. Not bad for the price....
Artscape Lodge is an incredible place for artists to stay and work in Toronto. It is located on Toronto Islands a short ferry ride from downtown Toronto. Artscape Lodge's affordable price and amenities are ideal for artists
$39 Canadian per night based on summer season weekly rates
Beautiful view of Lake Ontario. Secluded beach. Nautal setting. Cozy woodsy ambience. Ideal for artists lloking for short-term work space or accommodations at extremely reasonable rates
Goldlist Executive Suites Hotel in Forest Hill Village. As long as it operates; it are scheduled to be demolished and replaced with luxury condos. It is a short term rental apt house with furnished units and equipped kitchens. Very nice neighborhood. Next door to subway/streetcar station. One of Toronto's newest and nicest supermarkets, Loblaw's, is also next door and with access to subway/streetcar.
US$22 per night on a one month lease basis. For furnished studio unit.
Price. Convenient location. Quiet but fascinating neighborhood.
I´ve stayed in the Sheraton. Very good location - downtown in front of the City Hall, with connections to underground city through escalators inside the hotel.
Very comfortable and a good staff.
Comfortable, ecology-conscious hotel.
I have also stayed at the Sheraton Centre, which is in a really convenient location, but is a pretty generic business hotel.
I got it on priceline.com for $40/night US, and then paid another $40/night US to upgrade to the club level.
A nice view of the lake from the club level. The club level rooms also have high speed internet access
A beautiful home in a section where they were all new and similar or better than this one. Some had a lot of flowering bushes and flowers in front. She no longer owns it as she moved to Sudbury.
Sauna. Great rear sun deck, huge bedrooms and parlor as well as kichen and dining room and a basement playroom.
$90 bucks Canadian with tax.
Nice place, they have a lot of nice perks (pool...across from the movie theatres), receptionist was nice...clean...it's not the Mariott...but then again, the price isn't either!
Since I was staying at my relatives place I can't recommend any good hotel, but a hostel is always a good place to stay.
Toronto International Hostel (tel. 971 4440; 90 Gerrard St. West)– a few blocks from bus station.
Leslieville Home Hostel (185 Leslie St.; tel. 461 7258; 800-280-3965) – Inviting home setting, friendly owners work hard to place all comers.
For the historically interested, take a peek at the only castle in Canada..almost. The Casa Loma Inn!
Well it was a castle built by some rich guy not too long ago..and then when it was all done he had to sell it b'cause he had run out of money. Happy happy story. Sounds like the tourists spots in Spain to me, with all these halfbuilt buildings everywhere.
don't worry about accomodation. It's plentiful. In fact you can just walk in and ask (and leave, if you don't like it) and go to the next hotel/motel nearby.
about US$70 for a double ( kingsize bed ), kids below 16 free.
Cheap!! very much less than New York.
In Toronto we drove from New York and we stayed at the Toronto Sky Dome Hotel where we had reservations for four persons. It was our second stay at the Sky Dome Hotel. It is something out of this world. We have stayed there during the baseball season and during the 1998 World Basket Tournament.
Domed baseball stadium convertible to basketball, football. It has a Hard Rock Cafe, Mcdonalds all around the stadium, tow more restaurants and it is almost in front of the water front, Rooms are huge, cleanliness, gym, view to the sadium and to the train station
I went to a B&B called Feathers.
Great location in downtown. Victorian home.
It's clean, good breakfast and I have to tell you that the host is nice but a bit talkative.... You'll enjoy your stay.
