UNDERGROUND RAILROAD by LoriPori
From the early 19th century until the American Civil War, settlements along the Detroit and Niagara Rivers were important terminals of the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD.
White and black abolishinists formed a network geared to helping free and enslaved African Americans, find freedom from oppression.
This monument was dedicated to the Underground Railroad.
It is located one block west of Casino Windsor. Look left and you will see it.
