Vegetarian Food
by jennwerner
Good Afternoon. I was wondering if any one could let me know of any good Resturants with a good selection with Vegetarian food? We are traveling to Windsor soon and my friend is Vegetarian so I would like to be able to take her to someplace that has a good selection for her as well as us meat eaters..
Thanks in advance,
Jenn

oh my Jenn, there are so many restaurants in Windsor [ that is why our phone book is so heavy ]. Chains and independant restaurants of every ethnic variety. Bar and pub style to fine dining everywhere. We are known for our large number of eating establishments and just about all of them will have vegitarian dishes, as well as red and white meats and seafoods of all kinds. You will have no problem finding a suitable place and the Holiday Inn Select comes to mind as well as Koolini's. enjoy Jenn Barry
Travel Tips for Windsor
LaSalle, Ontario
by kris-t
LaSalle, a town in southwestern Ontario, is situated in Essex County. It is on the border of the Detroit River and is south of the City of Windsor. The population of Lasalle was 27 781 in a recent census. LaSalle, along with Windsor, is the oldest French settlement area in southwestern Ontario, and oldest continually inhabited European settlement in Canada west of the Quebec border. Now considered to be a bedroom community of Windsor, Lasalle is often cited as an example of Urban Sprawl; tracts of Canada's most valuable agricultural land has been covered by unsustainable development. One of LaSalle's biggest events is the annual Strawberry Festival, which takes place on the first weekend in June.
Even the Canada Geese do like watching sunsets.
by Waalewiener
Well why not sit and relax and watch the sun.
There is a saying if it is good for the Goose it is good for the Gander , well whatever that means ,these two Canada Geese are watching the sunset just like we did.
In the background you can see the
'' Rennaissance ''building ,which is the General Motors headquarters in Detroit.
Canada Day Celebrations
by windsorgirl
On July 1st, 1867 Canada became a country formed by the union of the British provinces in North America.
Canadians are very proud of their country and therefore in every town and city, no matter how big or how small, there will always be some kind of Canada Day celebrations.
Canada Day is July 1, so if you happen to be in Windsor, or any other Canadian town, you will probably find all banks and most businesses closed. But you will also find parades, picnics, carnivals, bbq's, fireworks and more red maple leafs than you can shake a stick at!
See Professional Sports Action across the Border
by windsorgirl
We are lucky in Windsor, that if we want to see a professional sports game, we only have to travel a short distance across the river to Detroit, Michigan. Here, we can see the Tigers play baseball, the Lions play football, the Pistons play basketball or the Red Wings play hockey.
Miles of Riverwalk
by staindesign
Windsor has a very beautiful river walk, i believe it is the best thing in Windsor. It is so peaceful and there are so many people out walking, riding bikes, and rollerblading. We really didn't know what to do during our trip in Windsor, and on this rivierwalk we meet people that told us of many things to do.
