So it's my girlfriend's 21st bday January 1st, not to mention New Years, so I want to come up and with quite a few friends. my question is, are there any cabins around town, close enough that we can get to the bars, that can accommodate a lot of people, maybe up to 20, even if we are split up into different cabins, that would be fine!!! I just don't really want to go the hotel route, i want as many of us together as possible. thank you soo much!!!

Hello HB [ same as PB ]I don't know if they have any accomodations left but you would enjoy staying at Branteaneys B&B Inn. They have 6 rooms , one with a jacuzzi tub in the guest house. 5 minutes from downtown, safe and gorgeous. The breakfast alone is worth staying there. 3 Acres with deer and other wild life roaming the orchards. If not this time DO try to stay there in the future. You will really be pleased. Make sure you stop at Becker's (much like 7-11) and try a bag of Lay's Ketchup or Dill Pickle flavored chips. While there are American immitations, Lay's cannot be beat! I still wonder why they do not have these flavors available in the USA...
When the British withdrew from Detroit in 1796, they transferred the courts of the Western District to Sandwich (Windsor). A brick court house and Gaol, completed by 1820, served until 1856 when the present building was constructed. Designed in the Renaissance Revival style by Albert H. Jordan of Detroit, it was built by stonemason Alexander Mackenzie, who later became Canada's second Prime Minister.
It housed the Essex County Courts until 1963. Renamed Mackenzie Hall, the restored building opened in 1985 as a community and arts centre.
Every summer, the cities of Windsor and Detroit participate in the two-week-long Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival that culminates in a huge fireworks display to celebrate Canada Day and American Independence Day. This fireworks display is considered among the largest in the world. It is held the Wednesday before Canada Day, on the Detroit River between Detroit's Renaissance Center and Windsor's Festival Plaza. This event attracts over a million spectators to Windsor's riverfront parks.
