Kirk's Place: Bed and Breakfast near Downtown Windsor

This cute B & B is located less than a mile from DT Windsor and the Casino, etc.
It is easy to get to and very reasonably priced. My friends stayed there for about $85 CND a night, including breakfast, for both of them.
The building is a huge, older home that the owners subdivided into four apartment-like suites.
The room my friends had, had a living room, bedroom, bath and a sitting room with a small fridge and microwave in it. Their room also had a balcony one could sit on in pleasant weather, but it was cold that weekend, so they didn't take advantage of it this stay.
The furniture was lovely and in excellent condition. The bed was a nice-sized four poster, it looked to be a queen size, but may have been a king.
It was a very comfy, cozy place, not cramped at all. There was off-street parking provided and the neighborhood the B & B is in is quite quiet and peaceful.

This is in a good location, easy to get to all points in the area from here. It is not super-fancy, but it is clean, modernized and very nicely appointed.
Breakfast is in the owner's apartment, it is sit-down, chef's choice. They had French Toast the first morning and bacon and eggs the second. They said the French Toast was wonderful, it had berries in it. They didn't request anything special, but if you book this location, you can call and ask if they will accommodate any special dietary concerns you have.
There is a mom-and-pop convenience store next to the B & B. There are several restraurants on Wyandotte that are just a block or two from the B & B. Most are Arabic/Mediterrainian cuisine, as the area has many Arabs living in it, but there are some Italian and others close by as well as most of the usual fast-food places.

Hotels and Motels

I am not an expert on accomodation in Windsor yet, as I was only there for one night. I can put down what I have discovered.

There seems to be two types of accomodation i.e. the hotels and motels, depending what you are looking for and your budget.

The hotels are generally either within or very close to the central areas of the city. The motels are generally further out. For those wanting a motel, what I found useful, is that they are nearly all in the same street. This makes your job easier for deciding which one you want. I found that nearly all the motels are located along Huron Church Road. What you can do, is drive along this road, going to each motel and requesting quotes and asking to see the rooms. I also strongly suggest doing so early in the day, before they fill up. If you follw Huron Church road into the city, it leads to the ambassador bridge into Detroit. Following this road out of the city, leads to the 401 highway to Toronto.

Choice Hotel: Great Value near Casinos in Windsor

Nice enough hotel for the money. Good service, morning coffee, and close parking. Found a great coupon on for it.

Our suite was comfortable, clean, and the hot tub was MORE than we expected. It takes up at least one third of the room!
