VISIT THE SACRED HEART CHURCH...
by Simonneeddy
VISIT THE SACRED HEART CHURCH WHICH ALSO SURVIVED THE FLOOD AND IS BESIDE IT AND THE PARK.------------------------The owner has written a book which was just released in Oct. 2000 telling the story of the LITTLE WHITE HOUSE that had belonged to his mother. It includes all the activities that went on in the Parish and how active the Fathers of the church were in the community and also his mother.
When the police came to tell her she must evacuate she went into the garden and picked a rose and placed it in front of a statue of ST. ANNE and said 'PLEASE PROTECT MY HOUSE'. Miracle or what it was the only one except the church to survive. There had been a previous flood many years before but much smaller and it only lasted 5 hours. THE VISIT TO THIS SITE .THE picture is of 'The Sacred Heart Church' beside little house taken from a pamphlet. The inside of this church was fially finished in 1928 the outside in 1905.

Trouts
by BEETLE_VERTE
At the Eternite River Park, we could fish in some of those lovely little rivers. Small trouts I think (since this was my first fishing trip ever...). Small, but so delicious! We fried them on the fire at camp, it was so fresh and juicy!
In the paths leading to the little river, we encountered a porcupine and a black bear. Wow! (and scarry!) Boots, fishing rods and baits, bucket or basket, hat, bugs spray, patience.
YOU SHOULD VISIT the pyramid...
by Simonneeddy
YOU SHOULD VISIT the pyramid built with signs that say 'YIELD' (the land and houses yielded to the water in the flood of 1996). It was built to honour the people of the area for their courage and tennacity during the flood. It is reflective and headlights shine off it. It is also made of aluminum from the area plants.
