We were here in June 2003, on our way back from Gaspe to Toronto. We wanted to stay within an hour's drive to Montreal.
Hosts Juliette and Hubert Lajoie Levasseur are retired world travelers and spend summers in Canada and winters in France near Paris where they have another guest house (frequented by leather-clad Jim Morisson-esqe rockstars).
Juliette's heritage is Acadian and she is happy to share the history with guests. She has a full library of picture books in each room - each with a different theme, including Native heritage, nature, lighthouses, etc.
The rooms have breezy lacy curtains and bedding, all made by Juliette herself on her heritage loom! She offers lessons to groups by prior arrangement.
We enjoyed Hubert's gourmet crepe breakfast at a large picture window overlooking the spectacular perennial gardens and watching the hummingbirds close enough to touch.
Juliette has a special set-up room for families with children, but I would not recommend staying here with toddlers (lace and antiques to be protected).
