Hotel/Motel Cap-aux-Pierres: Cyclists and families are welcome!

Hotel/Motel Cap-aux-Pierres is part of the Groupe Dufour, a small local chain of hotels and resorts. It started out as a B&B, and as its popularity grew, the hotel section was expanded and two motel sections were added on each side. The view is quite spectacular, as it is set on top of a hill overlooking the St. Lawrence River. The beautiful grounds are dotted with a swimming pool, a minigolf course, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts and a playground, which makes it a great place to go for families. Inside the main building you'll find a dining room, a bar, a spa, and a game room for kids.

We chose to stay in the motel section, which was very convenient because we were able to bring in our bikes for the night. Our room was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom was a bit small and we had some problems adjusting the room temperature. Walls were paper thin, so we were lucky to have good neighbours. Every Saturday night, there's a live band playing at the bar, and even in the motel section we could hear some of the music. Under other circumstances it might have kept us awake, but after having biked around the island all day, we went right to sleep!
