A beautiful inn in La Malbaie

This beautiful manor was built in the 1880s as a summer villa for a rich entrepreneur. Located just a few steps away from the Manoir Richelieu, La Maison Donahue offers quality at an affordable price. The inn's rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, and they start at only $95, which is a really good deal considering the location. If you feel like splurging a little, you can also go for a room with a fireplace and balcony facing the St. Lawrence River. All guests of course have access to the inn's gorgeous living room, where they can spend a quiet evening in front of the fireplace. The innkeepers will do their very best to make you feel comfortable and help you enjoy your stay in La Malbaie. There's a swimming pool and some rooms have a balcony, fireplace and a whirlpool bath. There are a couple of "economy" rooms for those traveling on a tighter budget.

Part of the prestigious Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Le Manoir Richelieu is a beautiful but pretty pricey resort overlooking the magnificient St. Lawrence River. Even if you can't afford to stay at the Manoir, you are still free to walk around the grounds and the main floor of the resort, sit in front of the fireplace, and enjoy the view! You can also stop for a meal at one of the Manoir's restaurants or have a drink in the tearoom or port room. The last time we were there we stopped by La Brise, the Manoir's lobby bar, and shared a platter of regional cheese with a glass of wine - we very much enjoyed the rich and yet very casual atmospehre of the place!
