Chrismas Dinner In Mont Tremblant

by cath1

Myself and my boyfriend have booked to go to Mont Tremblant over Christmas for 10 days. We leave the UK on 20th December so will be there for Christmas day. We intend to ski during the day but would like to go for a special meal during the evening of 25th December to celebrate Christmas, somewhere with great food (doesnt need to be traditional english!) and a warm/welcoming/relaxed atmosphere.

Where would be the best places to eat?

We are staying in the centre of the village.

Mont-Tremblant has some wonderful places to eat - it really depends on your budget and what type of food you like to eat.

If you like fondues La Savoie is the place to go http://www.restaurantlasavoie.com/eng/index.html - it's right in the village.

For a very lovely breakfast we love La Creperie - also on the mountain and the food is scrumptious!

Good luck with your plans!

Hiking trails all about

by coollikethat

There are several hking trails to enjoy, up and down the mountain. The trails are marked and their is a basic map you can pick up. The map indicates the route and duration of each trail. Good plan to take the gondola to the top of the mountain and then hike down. Bring plenty of water, good hiking shoes, and a hat. Hike with someone.

A Canadian bathhouse!

SPA Le Scandinave was our first experience at a Laurentian bagni (baths) and what a great experience. I describe the experience in my Sainte-Adele page but these 2 spas were completely different. Le Scandinave is classier than the bagni at Sainte-Adele and just slightly less friendly. Most of the guests are from Montreal. It costs $30CN per person for as many hours as you want (I recommend at least 3). This includes the Finnish sauna, Norwegian steam bath, jacuzzi, waterfall and swimming in the river which is clean and refreshing. The concept is to promote good health, one should get very hot first either in the sauna, steam room or heated jacuzzi and then jump into one of the cold pools or the river. There are loads of places to relax out of the water whether it's a chaise lounge, hammock, bench or cedar room so bring reading material. You can also get a massage for additional money. The photo was taken while walking down the path from the pool/jacuzzi area to the river. The river has a great name, River Diablo (the Devil River). I found it quite heavenly instead!

Glorious Sunsets

by coollikethat

Take the gondola ride up to the summit in time for the sunset. I think they post the time of the sunset on a board at the bottom of the gondola. They all post the temperature at the top of the summit as it can be quite chilly in the evenings. At the top get your camera ready for a beautiful sunset picture. There are even chairs set out at the top for you to just sit in and enjoy the view.

Trendy Ski Destination

"Trip from Parking Lot to ski hills, village view"

This is a free ride and one way to see the village, surrounding landscape, the lake and skill hills. Take the ride up and stroll down the village. Or continue your ride for free to the newly openned Casino with the best panoramic views of all the surrounding landscape including Lake Mt. Tremblant, and then on your return stroll down the village.

"The Mandatory Tourist Picture"

Here we are huddled close for the mandatory village photo shoot.

"My Better Half"

A photo of my better half in one of the many village squares. This place was built and modelled to look like a ski-village in Europe. lots of squares, cobble stone, and narrow winding streets.
