chair's lifts at mont tremblant

by jennyho

Hello everyone,

I do not recommend to go to Mont Tremblant to do the alpine ski because of the multiple problems with their chair's lifts.

This 2008 year the chair lifts had not been maintained well: 1 chair lift stopped for 6 hours and the people had been removed from these chairs on the ropes.

Another chair's lift stopped for 1.5h, fortunately, it had been repaired after 1.5h. The stuff said that this lift had mechanical problems.

I think it is unacceptable to keep people so long on the chair’s lifts

The information here is good, however it will either:-
Be deleted, because it is not a question.
Or
It will be lost as it vanishes down the travel forum.

May I suggest that you write it up, as a travel tip, on your travel pages here at VT?

Travel Tips for Mont-Tremblant

Interesting place

by marigold33

When I took the cable car to the top of the mountain and looked down on the city, it reminded me of a monopoly board after the game has been played for awhile. All green and red roofs......anyway, wander beyond the resort, go canoing in the Parc, it's so peaceful....

Skiing/snowboarding the North Side

by amsterdam_vallon

The North Side also features the Gravity Park. Designed for Experts, this area combines a Super Halfpipe, Quarter Pipe, Rollers, Tabletops, Spines, Backturns and Two Rail sections. The Mini Gravity Park nearby is where beginners get a chance to practice their skills.

With a total of 92 trails covering 502 skiable acres and a vertical of 2,131 feet, Tremblant offers something for skiers of all levels.

Beginners will want to checkout the gentle 3-1/4 mile Nansen; while experts will be thrilled on Dynamite, the steepest run at 42 degrees.snowboard on the North Side in the morning. I assumed that this was because most visitors ski the south side first so the North Side is not as busy in the morning and subsequently the South Side is not as busy in the afternoon. You can rent your equipment from a lot of place in the village

Hiking in Mont Tremblant National park

by Faiza-Ifrah

We only hiked at the fringes of this park called parc de la Montagne Tremblante (literally meaning park of the trembling mountain). It was the labour day long weekend and the hiking trio found lot of Quebecor company in the woods.

The park was created in 1895 as the 1st park in Quebec. Some features of the park: 1500 kms of hiking trails, 400 lakes, 40 species of mammals, 194 species of birds, 29 species of fish, 14 species of amphibians, and 7 species of reptiles.

The activities that we observed included biking, swimming, fishing, and camping. As it was 1st week of September, only few trees were beginning to show bright red and orange colours.

Mont Tremblant

by cfuentesm

Mont Tremblant is located at about 1.30 hrs from Montreal by car. It's supposed to be a major winter resort in Canada, but during the summer you'll also find a lot to do. It's a very beautiful place that reminds you of Swiss villages but built in a more modern style. Charming.
