Travel Tips for Mont-Tremblant

Sugar Shacks

by Stellaluna

When the maple starts dripping from the trees it's time to head to the Sugar Shack. This has long since been a Canadian tradition. La Cabane a' Sucre Millette is located in Mt - Temblant and is the best example of the traditional sugar shack. Guests are treated to a an authentic meal consisting of Scrunchies, sausages in maple syrup, Grandma's omelet, homemade pickles ketchup and bread. Don't forget dessert - Sugar pie!! Take a tour of the shack and other treats await you. Enjoy some traditional maple taffy on the snow. This is the last stop your horse drawn sled will make.

Sight seeing in St. Jovite

by Faiza-Ifrah

The former municipality of St. Jovite is 125 years old. The St. Jovite sector is one of the three sectors of Mont-Tremblant, the Village sector where we stayed in a resort, and the Mountain sector being the other two.

We drove there one fine morning and were captivated by the beauty of the town. It is very aesthetically designed (see pictures). The street is lined with open air restaurants, boutiques, and gift shops.

We simply chose to walk on the pedestrian path, buy some gifts and take lots of pictures with Rayyan's toy digital cammera.

A winter like landscape

by Laura_Mexico

In fact it was already the spring when I came to Mt. Tremblant and made this picture.... however, the ski season wasn't over yet and you could still see several people skiing, even in the middle of the week...!! Here's a view of the vacation apartments with the ski slopes in the background... there was hardly any snow left in the streets and none on the buildings' roofs, but apparently there was still a good amount of it on the mountains to ski.....

Summer luge ride

by mim95

The luge goes 1.4km down the mountain side. It's got a seat close to the ground...seems safe to ride, as even children can ride them too. But it is kind of expensive for just one ride, at $10. Not sure if people would go for it more than once, but it is much cheaper if you get more rides or the family package.

Open from May to October.

A fairytale-like place in the mountains!!

by Laura_Mexico

First by looking at postcards, and then when arriving to Mont-Tremblant's ski resort area from downhill and looking at it across the frozen lake, I felt as if stepping inside a fairytale book or entering the most pittoresque swiss little village ever............

Of course the little "town" -- if you can call it so -- was artificially created with the purpose of creating such illusion or impression. I've never been to other luxury ski resorts in America, such as Vail or Whistler, and I have no idea whether they look the same as Mont-Tremblant or not.... but I think that this kind of architecture must be very attractive for people and the creators know it very well. So they created this fake town with the characteristics of the loveliest village buried in the mountains that you could possibly imagine, and materialized it in what today is Mt-Tremblant ski resort. A lovely place to visit, just to walk around it, obviously a dream place to own a vacation home at (my BF just laughts at me every time I tell him I want him to buy me a house here LOL)....... but if you can't -- just like me -- then you will love to just travel there, look at it, walk around, maybe even ski if you know how to & like it.... That's all there is to do, but the feeling of wonder I had while being there was worth the trip.
