  • Fantastic B&B in downtown Montreal

    by

We spent a three night stay last fall in this small, romantic B&B in downtown Montreal. A lot of the attractions we were interested in were within 15-20 minutes walk from the B&B - there's also a subway line just a few blocks away.

Our Cinecitta room was comfortable, cozy, and luxuriously decorated. Extremely comfortable bed with amazingly soft all cotton sheets (even luxury hotels don't use these kind of sheets!). It was warm enough for us to enjoy breakfast on our private terrace overlooking Absolument's garden and outdoor jacuzzi...sigh...

The breakfasts are large, gourmet affairs: fresh ingredients, leisurely-paced but attentive service. Incredible value compared to comparably priced hotels.

Unique Quality: Each guest room has a unique, cinema-oriented theme, and the B&B is decorated with vintage posters.

While we didn't try it, the all-season jacuzzi out back looked very enticing!

One of the best and most original breakfasts we have ever encountered...

Directions: On the cusp of the Latin Quarter, Plateau Mont Royal and the Gay Village.

    Montreal's Hidden Gem

    by

This B &B is like no other that my husband and I have stayed at before. It has the feel of a boutique hotel with magnificant hospitality from the owner, Kent and country cottage due to the beautiful backyard garden. Also, I must not forget to mention the incredible large and tasty breakfast. You have the choice to have it served in your room, outside on the patio or in the dining room. It starts off with delicious french pastries (our favourite: chocolate and almond croissant), fresh squeezed orange juice and jam. Then the next part of the breakfast is a gourmet made meal created by the other owner and chef, Stephane. Scrumptious! On our stay they made us a prosciutto and swiss cheese omelette. You think you would be finished by the end of this meal but then they bring out this extravagant fruit collection. Choices of freshly cut grapefruit, strawberries, kiwi, honeydew and apricot. Yum. We highly recommend this B&b!!!!

Unique Quality: Each of the 5 rooms have private ensuite bathrooms and cinematic themes! High-quality, bedding, luxury linens (400+ thread count), thick, all-cotton towels, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, air conditioning, flat screen LCD television with 40 cable channels (English and French) DVD / CD player, clock / radio, quality bathroom toiletries and in the library downstairs there are DVD's, books and wireless, high-speed internet access. Also, there is a jaccuzzi in the back garden.

Stay at a B&B in Tadoussc

by AKtravelers about Maison Hovington

We really enjoyed the breakfast comraderie at the two Bed And Breakfasts we stayed at in Tadoussac. We met people from Montreal, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany and even Pennsylvania during the short time were in town.
From most bed and breakfasts, you can book tours from a variety of whale-watching company. This beats visiting them all individually, and allows youto pick a tour and time that meets your needs.

A good Downtown Vancouver B&B option !

by MichaelFalk1969 about Nelson House B&B

This B&B in Broughton Street/Downtown Vancouver (near Roedde House, a heritage building & museum) is in a pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver and in walking distance (15 minutes) both to Stanley park and Canada Place/Gastown. The theme-styled rooms are really nice, the hosts are friendly and helpful & breakfast is plentiful.

A great B&B in central Vancouver Island !

by MichaelFalk1969 about Eagle`s Landing B&B

The moment we arrived in the Eagle Landing B&B we were sure we had made the right choice. Anne & Jim are lovely hosts, and apart from making a great breakfast and striking nice conversation with us, they were going out of their way to provide useful information for our trips, like helping us with the Whale Watching time table or making a reservation for the ferry to Vancouver. Our loft room was big, cozy and fully equipped (TV, fridge etc.) and the location of the B&B is marvelous, with an unrivalled sea view. It is also possible to walk down from the B&B grounds to the shore and spot some seals ! The B&B is a ten minutes drive from the village of Qualicum Beach which has an ideal, central location in Vancouver Island, making it easy to do daytrips to either Victoria, Long Beach, Mount Washington or Stratthcona National Park. The B&B is about an hour driving distance from the ferry terminal in Departure Bay, thus good connected to the Vancouver area. Eagle Landing was our favourite accomodation during our last Canada stay, and we recommend it highly.

Try to find a bed and breakfast or country inn off the main road. Camping is fun, too. (in the summer!)
B&B 120.00 to 200.00 per night Canadian (That is about 1 million U.S.) Just Kidding.

Grandma lives in Campbell River!!!!

by raenorthern about Rivers Ridge B&B Campbell River, BC

What can I say - we were greated by the owners son who picked us up from the airport then onto the house. It is on the out skirts of Campbell River Village (not the town which is about 30 mins walk) The B&B backs onto Campbell River and June the 60+ owner and her husband organise finishing trips. They have a menagerie of animal on our counting it was five dogs and a cat or two but don't let that stop you as they were impecably behaved and not allowed in the house. It is just like being at your Grandma's, organised chaos but great fun. Nd the ebst thing is the breakfast she cooks the most amazing muffins and scones that I have ever tasted. For something a lttle bit different that you normal B&B give her a whirl. We then had to get to the quaysie the follwing day for our boat trip so her husband took us in his van Just like grandma's as I remeber it and the baking was amazing

I definitely would consider at a B&B for the convenience of being close from the center and living with a local. Our guest Belva was very nice and her breakfast 'copieux'! The Downtown B&B network is a very useful link to keep in mind. The prices are really moderate, even more if you come from the US and are used to the idea of paying over 100 US $ per night. We paid 60 CAN $

Infant-friendly lodging/B&B

by fertilecrescent

My husband and I are taking our 6-month baby with us on our honeymoon to Montreal in mid-August.

We'd like to find a nice, modest B&B where we can stay with our baby preferrably in the downtown area or a 10 minute subway ride into downtown.

I'd rather stay in a B&B than a hotel but any recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance!
