by marmalade77

Hi,

Can anyone out there recommend any great Vegetarian Restaurants in Montreal. We have been to a place called ChuChai on St.Denis which is amazing but we would like to know of anymore that are as good as this....Has anyone been to a place called Yuan on Sherbrook East?? We have heard good reviews about this place but have not tried it.

Thanks all the same but we are looking for peoples true experiences at named restaurants. Without been rude I think we can work out for ourselves that typing into Google “Indian Restaurants” will bring up a list of venues that serves such food.

There is a fabulous Indian veg resto called Pushap, but depending on where you're staying, it might be out of your way. Still it's well worth the Metro ride up there. Barring that, and if you have no qulams about eating vegetarian food in an omnivorous restaurant, Star of India is very good. It's right downtown. There are also 3 more Indian restos within spitting distance of each other at St. Laurent and Fairmount. All 3 are super.

Travel Tips for Montreal

We Meet At Last!

by hayward68

Finally, after knowing each other for more than two years on VT, LaurieJeanne and I met face to face! We'd spoken on the phone, exchanged Christmas cards, written numerous emails but never had been in the same city at the same time. When LJ emailed to say she would be in Montreal for a meeting and was it possible for me to meet her there, I immediately checked my work schedule and was thrilled to realize that I was off work the two days that she'd be in the city. I booked my train fare and it was decided that I would share her hotel room.
We had such a fun time together, from shopping to dining out and just being silly ;-)
It was our first meeting but definitely not our last :-)

Montreal's stadium

by jumanuel

The Stadium is something you can't miss it. There is a biodome inside, where you can find animals as birds, beavers, etc. Also there's a nice aquarium.
If you go out side you will find some cool gardens Japanese, Chinese and all kinds of flowers, it's preatty interesting. And finally you must go up, there is a lovely sightseen of the city, it shows the city from a different perspective, you can see almos everything

A few words go a long way

by Herkbert

Montreal is a thriving city with much to offer. People there are friendly and helpful, most speaking both French and English. Since french is the native language to many people, knowing a polite word or phrase can really help to break the ice.

Jean-talon market

by eternel2002

Montreal has many public markets, like Atwater, Maisonneuve or Jean-talon ..
I especially like Jean-talon market, it is full of ambiance especially during the summer, the atmosphere is very good, farmers come here to sell their fruits, vegetables and other home made stuff, every thing is organized in symphony of colors and there are always samples for taste ;))
The area is a multiethnic and it is very present in the market area with the people who come and with the small italian, arab, latin or quebecer groceries. Also what make it nicer, arround the market there are small restaurants and cafes with terrace.
My favorite thing is: eat a merguez or lamb sandwith, some fruit dessert from the market and espresso cafe in the terrace cafe ;)
