Street art
by marielexoteria
I found these 3 performers while walking on Ste-Catherine street. Picture 1 is the first musician I noticed. He was playing something looking like Spanish "castañuelas" (but not quite) and hitting them with the thingie that looks like a bike saddle, making a sound like horse shoes when a horse is walking.
Picture 2 shows a guy dressed like Spider man. He had a radio and was playing some music (couldn't hear what with all the traffic and people talking) but he was whistling louder than any street noise. While whistling and playing music, he was dancing (or something).
Picture 3 shows a man playing the guitar as if it was a piano. Very nice.

What I don't understand...
by sayates
If it is custom to tip in between 15% - 20% in Montreal, why don't the French Canadians tip us accordingly here? I am a server and in the summer months continuously receive 10% or less from the tourists from Montreal.
Just curious.
Montreal Row Houses
by yooperprof
Row houses are a common sight in Montreal. (In fact, Montreal is said to have the most row houses of any city in North America.) In some places these homes are built on one of the steep streets leading up to Mont Royal. It reminds me a little bit of San Francisco! In general, the row houses are neat and tidy and contribute a great deal to the ambience of this interesting city.
