Bed and Breakfast: Homey Atmosphere Away From Home- Chez Ileana
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Excellent atmosphere. Very homey. I stayed in Chez Ileana for 3 nights very comfortably.
    SERVICES
First thing I liked was the service of the owner herself, Ileana. From the time we arrived in her house, she gave us time to take a little rest and made us feel comfortable in our room. She then gave us brochures, maps and information we need for all the places in Montreal that we want to visit. The information she gave us was very useful and she even recommended us attractions that she does not want us to miss.

    FACILITIES & AMENITIES
There are 2 bedrooms available in Chez Ileana, these are:
Queen Room: Shared Bathroom, Queen Bed, Books to Read, Air-Conditioning
Double room: Shared Bathroom, Double Bed, Television, Air Conditioning

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
If you want your stay in a B&B with a personal touch and well presented continental breakfast, then call Ileana, book a room and she will be more than happy to accommodate you.

Chez Ileana has a charming facilities. You will enjoy your scrumptuous breakfast in a delightful dining room or on garden deck. Ileana is bilingual and can provide helpful tips and guidance to activities. It is situated in antiques row which is approximately 15 minutes walk to the City Centre and 20 minutes walk to Old Montreal. Lachine Canal , bicycle and jogging paths is only 2 blocks away. Indoor swimming pool just across the street.

Claudette : 'Your hotel is very good for this price. Do not change'.

Located in the 'Quartier Latin', near the Rue Saint Denis and the metro station Berry.
An ancient hotel but very sympathetic and clean.
The washbasin is in the room but there is private bath.
No lift but we were at the 2° floor (according to the French meaning).

Residence Inn By Marriott Montreal Downtown: A Nice Place    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • This was a nice place to stay for a couple nights on a business trip to Montreal. It's centrally located enough that I could walk to shopping & dining & sight seeing.

The hotel provides wireless internet access for your laptop - essential to the business traveller, and the TV has about 20 channels, 1/2 in English & 1/2 in French.

Unlike most Residence Inn properties this one (and curiously enough, the one I stayed at in Vancouver, BC - maybe it's a Canadian thing???) is a high rise. Typically Residence Inn properties are a cluster of small, 2 or 3 story units. But I guess that's not feasable in a bustling metropolis....

    Chez Jean: Funky sweltering hotbox

Set in the midst of the most vibrant of Montreal neighborhoods known as the Latin Quarter, this funky alternative hostel makes up for an overall sloppy appearence with its great location and devil may care attitude.

The place looks like a frat house after a huge party, with people sprawled in sleeping bags everywhere and in the heat wave that swept Montreal that weekend, it was a sweltering hotbox, but I found some cool breezes sleeping on our balcony. Somethings money can't buy, and this is one of them.

Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth: Comfortable and convenient    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Queen Elizabeth Hotel was a very nice hotel. The room was very comfortable, the staff polite, and it was extremely convenient. We took the train to Montreal and the station was many levels under the hotel. We literally hopped off the train and then took a series of escaltors up to the hotel lobby.

Novotel Montreal Centre: Solid hotel with a great location    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • My accommodations were great. The staff was very friendly and my room was very comfortable. I did stay in an upgraded room which cost me a bit more but offered higher quality bedding which I always find worthwhile. While a cost of $130 USD per night is a bit more than I was comfortable spending, I soon found the Novotel well worth the cost. The location was perfect - only a block from the Bell Center if you come to see hockey. I was able to walk to almost everything I wanted to see and the Metro was close for the sights I couldn’t walk to. The hotel was quiet, and - although I did not take advantage of many of them - most popular amenities were offered.

Exceptionally inviting and comfortable room with plasma HDTV. The bath had a detachable rain maker shower head that made for a relaxing shower. Wireless internet was available for a $11 CAD/night additional charge - I did not use the service. The hotel had a restaurant, L'O, that I did not try. The menu looked a bit generic - I was there to experience some new flavors. One concern was the parking: the hotel does not manage the garage and the spaces are small in size and limited in number. I didn't have any issues but I was concerned since the hotel claims no liability. The cost was $15.50/day with hourly rates as well.
