We just returned from a 3 night stay at Gingerbread Manor. We can not say enough how wonderful the owners, Ephraim & Yves are. They made us feel so comfortable, they gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing and transportation. The house is very warm and cozy; the owners take personal pride in the cleanliness of it. Our room was perfect - the bed, towels, amenities were great. Our breakfast each morning was fantastic - it was totally different every day and unlimited (one morning was quiche, one morning was lemon poppy seed pancakes with homemade raspberry sauce and we were sorry to miss the last morning, but we had a very early train to catch). They offer bike rental to all guests at a minimum fee; free computer use and free wifi; cable TV & DVDs in your room; they even offer for their guests who stay longer than 7 days, free laundry service. The location is perfect; centrally located for getting around. It's within walking distance to the Old City, the Metro, the bus and many, many restaurants. Being highly seasoned travellers we would highly recommend this B & B and without a doubt, stay here again.

Hi
Are there any English speaking schools in Montreal? if yes what is the cost
Thanks in advance
You might get a better response if you gave more personal information and the circumstances under which you are seeking English schools in Montreal. Quebec has strict laws about who can attend English schools so it is impossible to give you an answer especially when you're not even saying if you're looking fro primary, secondary, cegep, or college schools. Wisen up and I might be able to help you
for primary and high school, one of the parents have to had attended english school for a child to attend english schools.
private schools is an options, but again, as they receive some funding, i believe most private schools require a parent to have attended an english school. some high schools do not require any parents having attended english schools, there is no funding and they are much more $ (but nothing compared to usa)... try LCC (lower canada college)
as for universities, mtl universities are the same cost (i believe) and one would just apply.
ex of english unis would include mcgill and concordia

In planning our trip to Canada I came across this excellent website about Old Montreal:
vieux.montreal.qc.ca
It has lots of really detailed information about Vieux Montreal and an amazing knowledge base with interactive maps which let you examine detailed information from the city records about every building in the area, including pictures (recent and archive), construction and architectural notes, ownership and current usage etc. and this for every single building in the area. There are even notes on each street and piece of public art.
The direct link to the knowledge base is here:
vieux.montreal.qc.ca/inventaire/hall_htm.htm
This is by far the best civic/architectural heritage site that I have seen.
But I will have to wait until November to see if the actual reality lives up to the virtual representation of this website.
We shall see!
Notre Dame (one more time. It is so beautiful).
A funny thing : there is a Joan of Arc's statue in the church.
A message to the English Canadians ? There are daily guided tour in English and in French between 9AM to 4PM. They last 20 mn.
Even if you just smile a lot and say "Oui, oui", your effort at the language will be appreciated. It shows that you're not just a tourist in a "nosy" sense of the word. It shows that you're willing to try things their way. Most of them speak English, but some of them -- take the housekeepers in the hotels -- don't speak any English at all, so it would be good to learn their language, even if it's just the basics.
You might try an authentic Belgian dish called flam. If I had to compare it to an American food, I'd say it seemed slightly similar to a pizza with a very light and flaky crust, but it's really unlike anything I've eaten before.
