Residential suites

by marimar_72

hi all,

I'm planning to enroll my kids at Brebeuf summer school..it's located on Rue Decelles..
I would like to know which residential suites are there in the same area..I would want to be close enough to the camp.
any recommandations?

thank you.

Re: Residential suites

Hi!

There are two appartment hotels that I can think of. One is really close (http://www.terrasse-royale.com/), the other is just a short walk away (http://home.total.net/~rockledg/). I've never stayed at either place so I can't recommend one over the other but it's a nice area so I would think both places would be nice. Hope this helps a bit!

Montreal can be a jumping off...

by gayguy17

Montreal can be a jumping off place to other nearby towns and resorts. The Laurentian mountains, north of Montreal, can be reached within an hour or two by car. Skiing in the winter is fabulous at such resorts as Mont Tremblant and Greyrocks. In the summer Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts offer great restaurants, boating, waterslides, golfing, and other outdoor activities for everyone.

Also within an hour or two of Montreal you can reach the Eastern Townships, in French, Les Cantons de L'Est. Many charming towns, like Lake Brome, Bromont, and other villages offer Bed and Breakfasts, and Inns, that also host winter Skiing and other cultural and sporting activities and festivals in summer as well

Rue St-Paul

by zChris

Check out rue St-Paul and all of Vieux-Montréal! The whole area, especially St-Paul, is filled with winding, twisting cobblestone streets filled with buildings dating all the way back to the 17th century. St-Paul features surprises at every turn of its narrow cobblestone roadbed, including excellent restaurants, interesting shops, and a few museums. Check out the Ancienne-Douanne (Old Customs House) on the Place Royale, part of the massive Musée d'Achaeologie Pointe-a-Calliere, which features exhbitis on the history of the area and the excavation of its artifacts. Further down and off St-Paul is the Place d'Youville with the beautiful 1903 fire station which now houses the Centre d'Histoire de Montréal, a somewhat smaller museum of Montréal history. Also near the Place d'Youville are the Youville Stables and the Cours le Royer, both very old structures transformed into shopping and dining centres. Rue St-Paul itself has a number of excellent dining options, especially Café Stash, a Polish restaurant where patrons sit on 17th century church pews.

It's not french, it's québécois!

by lotta29

If you're francophone and coming to Quebec you should be aware of one thing: l'accent québécois! The french spoken here (or le québécois!) is something quite different from the one in France with its own expressions, own ways of pronounciation and most importantly, its very own swear words =) Every now and then you'll hear an english word in between - c'est nice, c'est chill, c'est weird... As for me, I really love this accent!
For those speaking english Montreal is a bilingual city so you'll make it just fine. Still, it doesn't hurt to learn bonjour and merci. And while you're here I'm pretty sure you can't avoid picking up those swear words too!

Summer activities overflow in Montreal like honey from a beehive. This here is one of the most famous Montreal summer festivals: The Montreal Jazz Festival. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun. There are a lot of free shows from muscicians (i can't spell that word) who have travelled from ALL over the world! They come to Montreal to do live, free shows, or to do more intimate shows (and more expensive :) like Lauryn Hill, whom I went to see this summer. It was quite unique and basic and primitive, which i love. I took some pretty colourful pics see? I can't add more than one unfortunately...
