As there are only some remote campgrounds and a very expensive-looking hotel (Gîte du Mont Albert) in Parc National de la Gaspésie, I decided to drive through to Sainte-Anne-des-Monts to find a place to stay. The VIC recommended L'Ancre Jaune, a campground in the outskirts of the town. It is located directly at the seashore and offers several sites for your tent or RV. The campground has a common room and very clean toilets and showers.
With a price of just $15, it was the cheapest accomodation I had during my trip. The only problem was the wind: being just next to the sea, my tent was shaken so much by a brewing storm at night that I couldn't sleep at all and moved into the common room with all my stuff. So if you think of staying at L'Ancre Jaune with your tent do so only when there's no wind!
cheap, good location
