I have not stayed here yet but it is on my list of places to review. Looks wonderful from the ouitside.
HI,
We're spending our honeymoon in Quebec the end Sept. We are first time travelers to Quebec, but we were in Nova Scotia last Sept and loved it.
Our plan is the following:
2 nights Auberge St. Pierre, Quebec City
3 nights Ripplecove, Ayer's Cliff
I've read lots about both of these inns, but would appreciate any further information you have.
We're considering dining at Marie Clarisse. I am a vegetarian. Normally, I don't eat any meat, fish or seafood, but for this trip, I'm going to try to incooperate fish/seafood, since I'm not sure I'll be able to find totally vegetarian meals. My fiance eats meat.
We plan to take a carriage ride of QC, but can you suggest other romantic things to do. We are 30 and 36 and enjoy the outdoors and can get around very well.
We both love good beer, so any suggestions on places to enjoy a great, cold beer would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
I think Quebec City is a great place to spend a honeymoon. There are lots of great little restaurants around the city. Cold beer in Canada is not a problem. I have some suggestions on my Quebec City page here on VT. I also love going to Montmerency Falls.
I stayed with my gf in auberge St-Pierre and really liked it. We took the package that included a dinner and it was really worth it. The rooms are small but what else can we expect in a 200 yr-old building...
Quick suggestions for Quebec City.
- Walk from the castle along the river toward the "Citadelle" army base.
- Go at night in the Petit Champlain neighborhood
- Have dinner every day on the "Grande Allee"
- go for a swim on the roof of the Hilton (not sure you can pay as a visitor but it's worth it !)
- Dinner on the revolving restaurant on top of the PetitChamplain
- Check out the "Chutes Montmorency"
- If you want to extend your stay, go for a car ride on the "Ile D'Orleans"
Have fun !
Thanks for your info ChuckG!
Your pictures of Nova Scotia are great. I was just there in June. Me oh my, isn't that a lovely place. We went all over NS, PEI and Cape Breton. I hope to go back for the Celtic Colours Celtic Festival in October. I'm sure Quebec is just as lovely. Happy Honeymoon to you two. What a great place to spend it!
