If you've ever wanted to go to Europe but didn't have the time or the money then Old Quebec is the place for you.
Quebec is the capital of the province of Quebec. 95% of the people in Quebec speak French. Quebec comes from the Algonquin Indian word Kebec meaning “place where the river narrows.” There are many amazing places to visit while in Quebec including the Petit-Champlain quarter, Place Royale and the Chateau Frontenac on La Terrasse Dufferin should not be missed.

No Tourists Around the Chateau in the Morning
Hi,
My wife and myself are visiting Quebec city in November to watch our daughter compete in the world age trampoline championships. The venue is the Pavillon de la Jeunesse. We would like to find a Hotel as close to the venue as posible.Could anyone advise us.
Thanks,
Le Pavillon de La Jeunesse is located on the site of Expo Cité. As such, there is no "walking distance" hotel, if this is what you were hoping for.
However, Quebec City is not very big and Expo-Cité is less than a 5-10 minute drive from the Old City. Depending on your budget, you have choices from quaint B&B to prestigious Château Frontenac. In November, you might be able to find some real deals. Last year, lots of families that came for the pee wee tournament held in Expo Cité stayed at the Royal Palace (http://www.hotelsjaro.com/palaceroyal/index-en.aspx). Location is great for travelling back and forth to the comp site.
Hope this helps.
I believe the closest one would be the Best Western on rue de la Couronne (http://www.hotelquebec.com/en/main.html). As mentionned in the previous post, it's not exactly within walking distance of the Pavillon, but it would be simple enough to drive back and forth, and you would avoid the narrow one-way streets of the Old City (which would only be a few minutes away if you have time to visit). Best of luck to your daughter!
Travel light as public transport in Quebec city are not as traveler friendly as in Montreal Quebec City is higher up north than Montreal. It tends to be 5-10 degrees colder in the winter, colder in the summer as well. If you visit in the winter, make sure to bring very warm clothes. It rains a lot in the autumn too. Bring a pocket dictionary or tourist book with key french sentences, it will be useful
Quebec has amazing murals hidden all over town. I know of 4 but there could be more. That's as many as I managed to find in the 2 days I was visiting. They are tromp-l'oeil-style murals and the talents of the artists will amaze you.
My personal favorite, the Quebec City mural is, if I remember correctly, located on Notre Dame in the Bas Ville, and is five stories high. It depicts the history of the city with several notable Quebecers in the painting. Be careful not to walk right into the building though - the tromp-l'oeil effect is brilliantly done.
The Petit-Champlain mural is located on rue de Petit-Champlain in the oldest part of Vieux Quebec. It depicts some of the history of the houses in that area.
The first mural I came across was blocks away from the old town. It was on a freeway overpass (I think it was Hwy 40) support beam and looks like a cathedral.
