The most impressive thing is it s history, everything is top shape preserved and it is not an american city. You are in europe, i would say in france. The province of quebec they speak only french, the signs are in french so be prepared. The history of quebec is the turning point of north america, the battle of 1759 went the french lost the territorys to the britts. The fortifications of quebec city are intact, 4.5 km of beautifull walls and gates.
The french canadians are a little temper went you talk to them in english at first so you do like this ((( excusez moi monsieur??? no francais !!!!!! and the person will help you with a big big smile, as simple as that.Le chateau frontenac and the fortifications, extremely romantique.
