See Vieux Quebec (the Old walled-in section), Quarter Petit-Champlain, Place-Royale
The picture is of Rod and Vieux Quebec in the background (Hotel Frontenac is prominant in the back) Driving to and from Montreal and around Quebec City with Rod and singing out loud (thanks for tolerating my singing Rod!) to the Smiths, Cure and the like

When you're done exploring the little warren of streets around the Place Royale, just hop on this little funicular tramway that transports you directly to -- where else? -- the Château Frontenac. Fare is $1.50 each way.
French Food and Drink # 4 - Caribou - The Drink!
by jamiesno
Caribou, a feisty alcoholic beverage, was popularised ever since the first carnival. The recipe is attributed to Ti-Père, a commerce that was first established on Ste-Thérèse Street in the lower city, then, more recently, in Old Quebec. Suffice to say a typical drink of caribou contains brandy, vodka, sherry and port... Wow!
The bar tender I spoke too said my particular drink of Caribou included the Caribou wine mixed with 100% alcohol "Alcool" and it was heated up like coffee!!
I tried very hard, I really tried my best to acquire a taste for it but it didn't come naturally. I promise to try again next visit :-)
Packing List

Film and good walking shoes... Walking shoes. This was July! Bring your things from home... We took snapshorts and bought postcards. It did not rain while we were there. But bring rain gear and sun protection. The walking on well groomed trails to see the island bird sanctuary was a great experience. Any one can walk the 2.5 mile way. I beleve one way wheel chairs can be used. Check with the National Park Service.
