More about Maison du Fort
Loved the Maison du Fort
by A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I visited this hotel recently with some of our family and friends. It is the perfect location for enjoying Old Quebec. We walked everywhere.
Madam Roy was the most hospitable hostess I have ever encountered. She was always available and willing to answer any of our questions. My husband perfers decaffinated tea, so she went to the store the first evening so he would have his tea for breakfast.
The rooms are immaculate and very well appointed. Our room was #1, on the first floor, with a view of the St.Lawrence.
There is no doubt that we will return to this hotel again.
Unquestionable

Hotel Masion du Fort is located within the heart of Old Quebec, it's small size and lovely decorum will certainly remind you of a favorite family member's home. Each of it's rooms are worth a look, spotless and very well decorated. What truly gives this hotel a 5 star rating is the warm welcome you will receive from the owner Marielle Roy. Marielle was more than happy to answer any questions we had and we did have plenty. Within walking distance of nearly everything there is to see in Old Quebec, Maison du Fort is unquestionable. On t'aime beaucoup Marielle, a plus tard!
5 wonderful nights at Hotel Maison du Fort
by A TripAdvisor Member
We just spent five wonderful nights at Hotel Maison du Fort. The rooms are immaculately clean. The location is a real plus - easy to walk to everything within the walls of the city within a few minutes. The owner, Marielle Roy, welcomes you to her small hotel and home and is full of helpful suggestions for things to see and do and places to eat within any price range. The small continental breakfast, served on the main floor each morning, affords you the opportunity to meet other guests and share sight-seeing and dining experiences. A real gem of a place that will not disappoint.
Fab location, hotel, hostess, and cats!

We stayed at Maison du Fort for 5 nights and had an absolutely lovely stay! Everything was wonderful- everything you expect in a quaint B&B. Our hostess, Marielle, was friendly and very helpful, as were her adorable cats! Our room was clean, comfortable, and charming. It was a home away from home. We will definitely be back for a stay!
Beyond Our Dreams!

This Dream Get-a-way for our 40th Wedding Anniversary was outstanding. Never having been to Quebec City before, we didn't know what to expect. Owner of the Inn, Marielle (pronounced MAR-E-L) Roy and her right-hand-man/nephew Charles (pronounced Shar-lay in French) introduced us to the Charming & Most Friendly City in Canada. They spent so much time with us, I don't know how they found time to bake the goods that were always available to the guests. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Everywhere we could possibly want to go in Quebec City was within walking distance of our accomodations. The near-by restuarants' food was wonderful and plentiful, although a little "pricey" for us. The currency exchange rate took care of "tips". Our next trip to Quebec City will surely be with Marielle!

Proprietress is the best
by A TripAdvisor Member
Thanks to other reviewers for leading us here. We seek quality, affordability, and friendly accomodations and Maison du Fort provided more than we expected. Marielle, the proprietress, is the charm and character that make her visitors loyal repeat customers. Her nephew, Charles, greeted us with warmth and friendly information.
Three straight guys and only two twin bed rooms was a comedy sketch in the making but we had a great stay and Marielle didn't bat an eye. We'll plan ahead next time to reserve before she is fully booked.
A nice surprise was the little breakfast set up in the piano room. We could walk to the park and the boardwalk at the Chateau Frontenac in 100 short steps. Thank you Marielle and Charles for adding to the charm of an Amazing Old Canadian city.
Wonderful "New France" Hotel
by TripAdvisor Member TraveltogetherDallas
My wife and I stayed at this hotel during a much needed break from our 2.5 year old and 7 month old boys. It was a great experience. The bed was very comfortable (much better than the bed on the "Gold Floor" of the Queen Elizabeth that we had the 3 previous nights and for which we paid $200 more per night). The owner was extremely hospitable, but not intrusive. The room (#10) was large and very nicely renovated. The location could not be better.
The only suggestion we would have is to request a room at the back of the hotel during the summer if you are not a heavy sleeper. The windows must be left open at night since there is no air conditioning (which is great). The rooms at the front of the hotel face a small street on which cars speed past at all hours. Not a major issue, but it would have been nice to have a room that was a bit quieter.
There's a reason all the reviews are good

Lovely rooms, clean and great location. The decor was very nice. Mdm Roy was a gracious host. We would definetley stay there again if possible. There was 4 in our family and stayed in room 6. We were there during a heat wave (almost 90 degree) and the room was a bit warm in the afternoon, but cooled off nicely at night.
